A Girl Named Fred: A Story of Laughter and Love Through Breast Cancer, Grief, and Making Margaritas Out of Life's Lemons

Callie Lovvorn has always been a bit unconventional. Growing up on a Cotton Farm in the Bible Belt of West Texas, she spent a significant portion of her twenties and thirties questioning the notion of a perfect life. When she reached 25 years old, she was already divorced and raising two boys with special needs on her own. She moved back home and became a newspaper editor and publisher. Following several years of grief and change, she proclaimed 2019 to be her year, only to be diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer in March. Embark on this wild journey with her as she divulges moments of laughter-induced tears and raw discussions with God about the possibility of death.

President's Day was first to honor the birthday of U.S. President George Washington (February 22) was first celebrated as a federal holiday in the United States in the 1880s. In 1968 the holiday was adapted to also honour the birth of U.S. President Abraham Lincoln (February 12) and moved to the third Monday in February. Happy Birthday, Mr. President!
