Friends! Our bookshop in Forest Lake opened this week, which means all Doll Rescue drop-offs can now be brought there. It’s closer to a main highway and travel route, and less out-of-the-way than our house. The address is 1107 Scandia Trl N Suite B in Forest Lake. Thank you!

Thank you to Connie and Terri of St. Paul for asking me to repair your baby doll and Chatty Cathy!

Unfortunately, due to worsening arthritis in my hands, I may not be able to continue taking in Chatty Cathys that are still completely together. I can still repair the voice boxes if the doll is already opened up, but opening up the torso and heavy-duty casing for the voice mechanism is very strenuous and my joints just can’t handle it any longer. (They didn’t build these dolls with future repairs in mind!) Thank you for your understanding!

Friends!

I have a huge announcement 😊. My husband and I are opening an independent bookstore in Forest Lake, MN! Once we are open in the end of May, I’ll be having all Doll Rescue drop-offs coming to our shop, rather than our house. If you live in the Forest Lake area, be sure to follow our store’s page!

Also, because of the tremendous amount of work involved with starting our new business, my turn-around time for doll repair is going to be much slower for a time. My apologies in advance—and thank you for your understanding!

Thank you to Dianne of Superior WI for donating so many cool vintage dolls last week! I’ll be posting more photos when I have them all cleaned up—but for now, I wanted to share about this beauty!

My girls were THRILLED to help me clean up another My-Size Barbie. They promptly named her Mindy and she is now the twin sister of Vidia, the doll who inspired the creation of The Doll Rescue in 2023. Sooo it looks like Mindy has found her new home, and won’t be heading to the preschool with the other donation dolls 🤷🏽‍♀️
