Did we drive to an obscure Illinois town to snag 30 vintage fruit crates for the new shop? Yes, yes we did. We would have bought more if we could have fit them in Stephanie’s Prius. We’re trucking along in the corner spot — it’s going to be so good! In the meantime, the tiny shop remains OPEN every weekend through September!

Great Bakes by Martin Sorge is out today! Martin is the winner of The Great American Baking Show and a fellow Midwesterner to boot. We love that this book has a great selection of savory and sweet bakes. I’m especially excited about the peach pie with cornmeal crumble because the peaches are peak right now 🍑. Also, big news over here: Martin is coming to St Louis!! He’s the first author we’ll be hosting in the new space and we couldn’t be more excited. Save the date for November 17, more details to come 👨‍🍳

We love when friends visit us together! This group is extra, extra special because they’re Sara’s best friends from college. What a treat to have them here! We’ve been eating our way through St Louis and they helped start assembling cabinets in the new shop yesterday.

We’ve been busy little bees lately! Cabinets were delivered, lumber is coming soon, we bought a fridge (priorities), and we’re working with local makers on some truly rad signage. Our target opening date in the new shop is October 1st — can we do it!?
