"Everything Old is New Again"

We here at Game Nite strive to offer the best gaming hub in St. Louis. Whether it be via in-store events, our easy-to-use points rewards program, or providing a wide arrange of games at great prices. We are proud of our ability to grow and change to meet the needs of our community. In the spirit of that continued growth it has come time to update another one of our core areas of business, the Game Nite Consignment Program.
The Game Nite Consignment Program has been a part of our business for a LONG time now, allowing players an opportunity to get store credit for their used games which can then be spent towards purchasing any number of other items in our store. Our community has become quite accustomed to this program over the years, and we know change can be a little scary, but we think Game Nite can stand to provide our customers with something better. With that in mind, starting on July 1st, 2026, we will begin sunsetting the current Consignment Program in favor of a broader Buy/Sell/Trade Program. Before we move on to the thought process behind this change, we wanted to clarify a couple of items to avoid confusion:
1 - We will continue to honor all Consignment Program items that are currently in-store, and any items placed on the Consignment Program between now and June 30th, 2026. We will continue to sell these items and provide the customer earned credit throughout the remainder of the 2026 calendar year. If any items have not been sold before January 2027, we will then reach out to customers to allow processing under the new program or a pickup/return.
2 - Starting on July 1st, 2026 we will no longer accept any additional items under the old Consignment Program. Customers will be directed to request a Trade Quote under the new Buy/Sell/Trade program. A quote request can be filled out in store, or sent via email to [email protected].
While we won't bog you down with those program details here (see the link above), we did want to talk a bit about why this change helps us look to the future.
The Consignment Program was quite successful in providing great value to both Game Nite and the community, but there was what could only be described as a general 'messiness' to its processes. (Lots of physical paperwork to track, no true quality checks, and customers needing to inventory their consignment games occasionally) The new Buy/Sell/Trade program aims to fix most of these issues by putting all of the paperwork up front, giving space for a full quality check on items traded in, and providing store credit to our customers at the time of trade instead of time of sale. While all of that sounds great on paper, there is also a general need to bring all of our trade programs closer in line with each other to allow us to provide additional payment options alongside store credit in the future.
