"Heart of stone" may sound tough, but we prefer to look at it as reflective of the strength of your love! CM artist Bethany cuts these sweet tokens from scraps of CM installations; now you can share with someone (or some Place). Extra swell gift if CM played a part in a relationship-after all, we have been voted the Best Place for a Last First Date *shines nails*. Tactile and fun to hold. Give it as it stands, include it in an artwork, get several and embed them in your sidewalk! Various colors; examples in photos. Allow us to choose for you, but if you prefer a specific color, please note in comments. Includes handcrafted packaging and story card. You can't miss with this! Shipping this week for Valentine’s Day delivery. Link in bio!

What do you expect to see in a plant in a sunny window at Artifacts? A mantis, of course! But it couldn’t be just any mantis. It has to be a Valentine’s Day Mantis. Much like that big jolly dude brings toys in December, our love bug (their name is Ellery) brings gifts of happiness and charm for your sweetie. Yes, that’s a little corny, but seriously-a handcrafted purple felted heart-faced mantis from City Museum? That is PEAK holiday gifting brilliance!

STL artist Lisa O. meticulously handcrafts these one-of-a-kind mantis sculptures exclusively for City Museum. Because it’s a little chilly outside, our mantis is wearing a tiny scarf for the trip to their new home❄️

Slide into our DMs or drop by Friday thru Sunday, 10-5, to adopt a mantis for your special someone-or for yourself, because everyone deserves a happy mantis! 💕

New year, new…gifts for you! Treat yourself to one-of-kind gifts from City Museum Artifacts. Hand-forged from scrap steel using a hammer and anvil, City Museum artist Kurt Knickmeyer creates beautiful, useful tools to make your daily life easier. Here, top to bottom: a sturdy mezzaluna to make short work of your pizzas and quesadillas ($140), herb cutters ($85) for fresh herbs, an assortment of bottle openers (left- and right-handed, $60), and two sizes of J hooks ($39 for the small, $47 for the larger with a twist.) Come see us this weekend, or every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during January and February!

Harry Partch (1901-1974) was a music theorist and composer. He wrote music using scales of unequal intervals in just intonation, and also worked systematically with microtonal scales. Eventually, he turned to creating his own specific instruments; before that, he composed with more standard instruments, including Metallophones. We have a couple of Suzuki Metallophones available-along with a bag of extra keys, in case you wanted to change it up, Harry-style. Check them out here. https://city-museum.square.site

Gorgeous old handmade cedar costume trunk with canvas strap closure and buckle. These protected costumes for a local civic/theater organization. Put some casters or feet on, and you’ve got a stylish side table to store sweaters. So much better than the plastic tub. I have a couple of these available-and this one will make an appearance at the Campbell House and City Museum Yard Sale this Saturday, Sept 26.
