Memorial Day Weekend starts tomorrow!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Each year we have donate 5% of all sales to the American Legion Riders Post 362, helping hands dice run. This year in no exception. All proceeds, from the dice run, go to the Veterans Memorial Grove, for maintenance and improvements. The Memorial is at Sprague Brook Park. If you haven't been, I highly recommend the trip. It is a beautiful place to honor our veterans.

Stop in all weekend. 5% of everything spent in the store will go to help. We could never repay those that made the ultimate sacrifice, for our great nation. We can only continue to honor those men and women.

Each year we have, with your support, increased our contribution. If you have been thinking about a beef share, stocking your freezer, or just want to grab something for dinner this is a great time to do it. Join us in supporting this program. Lets help the Legion Riders blow away their goal this year.

We need your help!

Ken has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer and we have a greenhouse full of beautiful flowers. We are asking all our wonderful friends and customers to help spread the word so we can clear the greenhouse and focus on treatment.

We are growing so fast, that we would like to add another full time butcher to our staff. This is a very rewarding position. You get to have the artistic freedom to create and explore the craft of whole animal butchery. We are not just looking for a person that can use a knife. We are looking for a person that takes a great deal of pride in everything that they do. We are about creativity, quality and efficiency, not straight speed.

You must be experienced and proficient in full animal butchery
Must be able to lift and carry very heavy weights 100+lbs
Must be able to stand for long hours
Must excel in a fast paced environment
Must be able to set pace for rest of processing center
Proficiency in breaking down full animal carcasses into primals and sub primals
Must be able to cut and trim individual cuts out of the beast
Steaks, roasts, stews, chops, trim, etc…..
Experience vacuum sealing is preferred
Knowledge and use of grinders, mixers, saws, stuffers, slicers, and other meat processing equipment is required.
Customer service and cooking/smoking knowledge is needed as you will have to chat with customers about their needs and wants.
Run counter and register if extra help is needed
Train helpers and assistant butchers
You will be trained to become head butcher
Must be able to keep crew and staff working and productive at all times
We will institute a bench test cutting and breaking beef and pork
Commercial smoking experience is needed as we are expanding our smoked meat offerings.
This position is full time M-F with about 1 weekend per month
Health insurance is available to you, if wanted
Earn up to 15 PTO days per year
Discounts at all Davies Hillside owned businesses
Profit sharing and bonuses are available for you to earn
Hats, shirts, aprons, are provided
35-45/hr wage based on skill level and efficiency
