Banning books IMHO is never a good idea but banning Maus just before Holocaust Remembrance Day is just tone deaf as well.
On the other hand, they say "any publicity is good publicity"

The library will be closed Tuesday November 2nd for the election in the Buresh Room due to Covid concerns with the expected heavy foot traffic.
And the library now has automatic doors at the main entrance, so you can carry out books purchased from the Friends in both arms. ;-)
