If any one is wondering the greenhouses survived the storm. We added a few holes from the hail driven wind but otherwise all is well. Thankful to God it was not any worse. If you have any plants out you will more than likely need to cover them. Looks like we are going to toy with freezing things the next few nights! Dave

Thought I would share the pictures of a few of the planters we have available! Monday is opening day! Dave

This coming Monday which is May 4th we will open for the season. We have lots of flowers in bloom already in spite of a couple of major setbacks. The tomatoes and cucumbers are behind but this is Nebraska and I highly doubt we are done with freezes yet. Thank God for the rain we had this weekend and pray for a great gardening year! Dave

Well our world traveler box of plants found their way to us on Thursday! These aren't them! Dead doesn't do justice to what they were when we opened the box! In Katie's words it made her want to throw up! All DEAD DEAD DEAD!!!!!!!!!!! I am in the process of trying to replace them which is no easy task at this point of the growing season but we have got a good percentage of them on their way for arrival this week. So onward and upward. There are a lot of babies thinking real hard about blooming already!

Three weeks ago I wasn't sure where we were going this year. I walked into the east greenhouse which was full of seedlings and we had a regulator fail. It was 27 degrees and the water lines and tanks were froze and I was sure we had lost it all. God is good and only by a miracle did almost everything survive. So here we are ready to get going for another year. The patented plants came in this week except for one box that is on a world tour. Hopefully they show up alive this week. So away we go and hopefully you find some new gems and some old favorites. Praying for rain and hoping everyone has a very successful year of gardening and flowers.

Lewis Nursery will be opening for the season tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM. The hours will be a little odd for the next 2 weeks as Katie is still at preschool as a para and Sandy is still in school. We will be open Monday through Thursday in the afternoons from 2 PM to 6 PM. Friday will be a normal day being open from 9 AM to 6 PM with hopes of a lunch break from 12 to 1. Saturday will be our normal 9 AM to 3 PM. Next week will be the same and hopefully the week after we will be back to normal. A word of wisdom with the road construction going on the next couple of weeks our back door will be open if the front is inaccessible! Dave

Would you believe that Jethro Bodine himself once roamed a Hollywood set as a 12-year-old kid? Back in 1949, young Max Baer Jr. visited his father, the legendary boxer Max Baer Sr., while he was filming Abbott & Costello’s Africa Screams! 🥊
Of course, little Max had no idea that years later, he’d become a TV icon as the lovable but dimwitted Jethro Bodine on The Beverly Hillbillies—a role he played for nine hilarious years!
Today, Max Baer Jr. turns 88, and we’re tipping our hats to a man who made us laugh like crazy with his “double-naught spy” dreams and his endless quest for a job that paid “at least a hunnert dollars a week!” 💰😂
