Program 1
Online Manifested Returned Items
We get a truckload of merchandise packed from floor to ceiling. This merchandise comes from an online return center. When we take items off the truck, we put them in pallets in two categories (items for our eBay store and items for auction platforms). The items that are for eBay are generally duplicates and/or items that are generally above $125 in retail value. The remaining items are palletized for auction.
We create some pallets for auction that have items up to $125 in value and we have other pallets that are generally capped at $40 in value. After creating these pallets, we create a manifest of items and total the retail value of these items. You will know the value based on the manifest that we create.
We generally start the bidding at 10% of retail value and auction it off to the highest bidder. We do not open any of these boxes so we do not know the condition of the items inside. Because these are returns, there will be a mix of items that were returned because they were broken and a mix of items that were simply returned because they were not what the buyer was looking for.
This will be designated as Program 1 in the comments at www.bidHT.com and are usually auctioned off on Sunday evenings.
Program 2
Online Manifested Fulfillment Center Items
In this program, we get truckloads of merchandise that come in on pallets and are manifested. This merchandise comes from an online fulfillment center. On these truckloads we often get lots of duplicate items. Some of these items are sent to eBay and some are sent to be sold by auction. Often we will split the items and send them in both directions because we have so many.
Because these items are from a fulfillment center, they are generally not returns. Instead they are items that were pulled from the shelves and sent to us for a variety of different reasons. Because they were pulled from a fulfilment center, these items generally are newer or closer to new on average than pallets of items from a return center. The percentage of damaged items or items missing pieces is fairly low relative to returned items. We generally start the bidding on these pallets at 15% of retail price.
This will be designated as Program 2 in the comments at www.bidHT.com and are usually auctioned off on Sunday evenings.
Program 3
Unmanifested Returned Items
Sometimes we get returned items in 4’x4’ gaylords or on pallets that are unmanifested. If they are unmanifested, we either auction these items individually or we auction the entire pallet. We do a basic look at the outside of the boxes and pick a starting bid for the auction. Since we don’t know all of the items that are on the pallet, we don’t know the accumulated retail value. We start the bidding relatively low and let the market determine what they think the value of that pallet is.
This will be designated as Program 3 in the comments at www.bidHT.com and are usually auctioned off on Sunday evenings.
Program 4
Salvaged Items
As we process items for Hammer Time Auctions we often find items that are broken but still have some value for parts or for re-purposing. These items are consolidated into a pallet or placed into a bin and sold all as one item. The bidding for these items generally starts at about 2% of retail value (if we have the manifest). If we do not have a manifest for these items, then we assign a base opening bid based on a salvage value of the items.
This will be designated as Program 4 in the comments at www.bidHT.com and are usually auctioned off on Sunday evenings.
Program 5
Single Bulk Items
As we process items for auction or eBay, sometimes we receive a truckload that has a significant number of the same item. Generally this item will be sold on Hammer Time Auctions, on our eBay store, but also sold in bulk.
Sometimes we get dozens or even hundreds of the same item, so we need to sell this item in a variety of outlets. Typically these are pulled from an online fulfillment center, so they will often be brand new items. If they are pulled from a fulfillment center, these items will be auctioned in bulk with an opening bid of 15% of retail value. If they are returned items, they will be auctioned in bulk with an opening bid of 10% of retail value. Sometimes, if we have a significant supply, the winning bidder will be alerted after securing the winning bid that this item is available for overflow purchase. We offer the buyer the right to purchase more items at the same price as their winning bid (without having to win the item at auction again). We will alert the buyer after their winning bid if this item is eligible for additional purchase. When in doubt, be sure to ask us a pickup time if that item is eligible for additional purchase.
This will be designated as Program 5 in the comments at www.bidHT.com and are usually auctioned off on Sunday evenings.
