This is the store pup for today. She came to me from SCAC yesterday afternoon very shortly after arriving there as a stray. She had no name yesterday, so I started calling her “Bissell”, for where she’d been collected as a stray. Just as I was prepping to type this I got a call from SCAC, an owner had come forward…Yaaaaay! And her name is Sadie. In light of this great news, Sadie’s appearance as a shop dog will be limited to a single day engagement. Stop in.

1998, 2000, 2002, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2024, 2025, and now 2026! I am grateful, and hopeful…I am grateful and appreciative of my amazing support all these years. Thank you. I am hopeful for the future of Downtown and The Cardologist, and especially hopeful that some day, soon I hope, to return to pre-Covid sales levels and I will once again not have to rely on my Social Security check to pay the store’s rent! That would be super cool! Thanks again, and Happy Friday.

Shadow Too (there was already a Shadow at the Camp) is shop dog today. Shad2 is a foster from SCAnimal Control and is “technically” available for adoption. However, at 14 years, 7 teeth and a little sight impaired, she is the epitome of Camp Chihuahua, with the exception of not actually being a Chihuahua. A little funny looking, she fits the vibe of me and my house generally. She spends a lot of her hours asleep, upside down in her bed, her long legs sticking straight up. She gets excited at treat time and meal time, and is very interested in the passing scenery on car rides. She sits straight, very erect, and paying attention to the details. I love her to death. It is a stunningly beautiful day to be downtown, so stop in and say hello to both Shadow Too, and me!

Sweet, delicate Chloe spent the day yesterday at Brewer’s and returns there today. Keeping her eating, an ongoing issue since her arrival at the Camp, had taken a more ominous turn. Sadly, it looks like she has gallbladder issues, gallstones. The only true fix is gallbladder removal at U of I, a surgery probably too big for her at under 3 pounds, and costly. For now, trying to buy some time with fluids and antibiotics. Keep this little angel in your thoughts, while I wrap my own mind around it. ❤️🐕
