Deeply saddened to hear that MARCIA LUCAS passed away 2 days ago at age 80 from metastatic cancer. If there was a true Mother of it was Marcia Lucas, who turned the misunderstood pile of shots, effects sequences, music, and dense story into the film that changed cinema. She was an unsung hero and legendary editor of American Graffiti, Star Wars, Return of the Jedi, Taxi Driver & more. A brilliant storyteller and pioneer of the industry, she leaves behind a legacy of film editing and for women in film.
