On October 15, 2019 a Flavor Ban was mandated by the State of Oregon. The reasoning for the ban was based on a campaign of misinformation and deceit by news media with accusations that people involved in the v**e industry were encouraging minors to v**e and that flavored nicotine-based e-liquid was the cause for lung injuries and deaths. The blatantly overlooked truth is these deaths and lung injuries, that continue to be reported, were and are caused by black market THC cartridges. The people responsible for manufacturing or altering the cartridges that are taking lives and causing acute lung injuries must be found, stopped, and brought to justice.
When the news media inundated the public with the smear campaign against va**ng, sales in v**e shops across the country and internationally dropped sharply. Many business owners, myself included, have managed to keep our businesses afloat on cash flow only. Significant decrease in cash flow at Kickit continued until the the date of the flavor ban was announced. Sales then spiked for 3 days, enough to make payroll one last time and set aside money for a bankruptcy attorney to keep the sharks at bay, such as the internet and telephone service, POS leases, and the security lease. Closing Kickit Vapors was a business decision, not a decision of the heart.
Brad, Jeff and myself miss our dear and loyal customers and urge you, for your health's sake to not use to***co products! Oregon V**e Society (OVS) and Urban Vapors in Eugene are especially aware and sympathetic to Kickit's customers. Please reach out to them, they will take care of you. And most of all, thank you for your support, friendship and patronage over the years.
