My favorite time of year to make soap is here! I love gathering spring flowers from our acreage to infuse into botanical soaps. From L to R we have lilac, dandelion, and redbud/wild violet. Aren't they beautiful?!

Even though I am not at the market anymore, you can still order your favorite soaps, simple deodorant, all-natural lip balm, shampoo bars, incense, and repurposed incense holders any time . And...there may be an open house shopping day at my home now and then. It would be so fun to see you all again! 😍

Good evening, my soapie/incense friends! It feels so strange tonight to not be packing up my car for opening day of C-Street City Market tomorrow! I truly loved the six seasons I was a vendor at the market. When I began there wasn't much interest in incense, but thanks to you, I couldn't seem to keep it in stock. Remember if you want to restock your Clairebrooks Cabin incense that you can purchase it any time at Chabom Teas + Spices. I just delivered a freshly made batch there this week. It's been going fast!

Thank you, dear friends, for your business these past 6 years, but more than that, thank you for the smiles and conversations I have so enjoyed with you. I am taking this season off to continue to heal from chronic Long COVID and to keep my Alpha Gal allergy manageable AND to enjoy my first grandbaby and my husband's recent retirement.

If you need any body products (I'm talking to you, my regulars...) just let me know what you need and we can figure it all out. I am still toying with the idea of hosting an open house now and then, so stay tuned!

Have fun at the market tomorrow, and be sure to buy lots of goodies from the wonderful vendors. They are such great people and I will miss them so!

Happy snowy morning, my soapie/incense friends! I delivered a fresh batch of handmade incense to Chabom Teas + Spices on Thursday, so if you are running low, you know where to go! I am shocked at how fast that last batch sold. Thank you!!

Well, it's a new year, and time for some new news. I want to let my C-Street City Market customers know that I will be stepping away from the market this season. It was such a hard decision. As many of you know from our conversations at the market, I became a first-time grandma a couple weeks ago! He is an absolute love and I am so blessed to finally be a granny! Also, my dear hubby is retiring in just a few weeks. Those are two huge life changes. I have dearly loved my 6 seasons at the market and will miss it more than I can express. Thanks to you, I have gotten SO busy that I can hardly keep up! Soooo...it's time to step back, take a deep breath, and spend time with my family. That does NOT mean, however, that I will stop making all the smell-goodies that you have come to love. The challenge now is how to make them available to you.

I am often asked if I have a website, and I do not want one, nor do I ship. When someone says to me, "I just love you guys's (bad grammar, I know...) stuff, the "you guys" is just me. I am as busy as I want to be, and I never want to lose sight of the joy of meeting you all in person. That's the fun part!

So...here are some options if you still want to keep purchasing your favorites.

*I can meet up with you if you know what you want to order. This would be cash-only transactions, and there will be a flat $3 delivery fee to cover gas cost (I live a little outside Springfield). The meet up place would be the north parking lot of Denver Mattress at Division/65.

*I may return to the very roots of Clairebrooks Cabin's humble beginnings. Long before the market (I have been at this for 25 years!), I used to host a few open houses a year in my home. They are really fun! There are usually snacks involved. :) This would allow you to sniff and see all the stuff I have. This would be a free event and may now and then feature a guest vendor as well. These events would be cash OR credit card. The only hitch with the open houses is if there is not enough interest. I live about 10 miles east of Springfield, an easy and lovely drive. But I do not want to set up and prepare if no one would come, so I would probably ask you to let me know if you plan to come.

Lastly, I would not say "never" about returning to the market someday. I love that place and the people there.

Sorry the post was a long read, but some of you have been asking. Much love and gratitude for all your kind words and support.

I could put this off NO longer. Have I mentioned how much I dislike making shampoo bars?! They are uncooperative, cantankerous, unpredictable, and altogether frustrating. But... oh, they feel so good on my hair.

And if you are wondering, no grandbaby yet. Due anytime! 🥰.

I come tomorrow to C-Street City Market armed with the coziest fall incense around: Bonfire, Pumpkin Chai, Apple Cider, Maple Leaf, Fall Festival, Toasted Pecan, Oak Vanilla, and Carrot Cake.

I made limited quantities of the fall incense since I will only be at 2 more markets (this season) after tomorrow. No sad faces allowed if you miss out. 😁🍁🍂

Good stormy evening, soapie incense friends! I realize the market season is nearing the end, but... hopefully I will be debuting a new product in October! Ever heard of magnesium cream? Well, you may want to read about it online. I made my first batch tonight and after I make a few adjustments, I think we will have a winner.

I never make any promises or claims about my products. I am no scientist! 😁. I have been researching the purported benefits. Here's a little of what I have read about it.

Magnesium chloride is absorbed through the skin and goes directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the stomach. Supposedly, it is beneficial for stress, nervous system, muscle tension, relaxation, and (hopefully) more restful sleep. This is the first time I have ever used it, and I am excited to try!

If all goes well, I hope to have a few jars at the October market. I will be there this Saturday, and October 4 and 25. This season sure went quickly!

Happy Friday, soapie/incense friends! It's hard to believe market season is winding down. There are only 8 markets left in the regular season! I will not be able to make all 8 of the markets and I will make sure to post if I will be there. Several of you have mentioned you want to stock up for the long winter break.

Sept. 20 Probably
Sept. 27 No
