Just a quick heads up for my small business peers, I received a message from a potential buyer this morning who wanted to order some earrings. After we discussed what she wanted, she asked for my venmo to send payment. She then told me that Venmo wouldn't let her proceed without my email, which should have been my first red flag, but I didn't think much of it. After I gave her my email, I received a scam email claiming to be from Venmo, which I've attached below. If you too get this, please know that it's not associated with Venmo and the "buyer" is trying to get you to jump through the hoops in the email so that they can charge back your account later. Any correspondence from Venmo will come from an email with a Venmo domain. The person was very persistent, even when I told her that I knew it was a scam and would not be moving forward, so be aware.
