It’s a sunny autumn afternoon, and Lucas Torresdal is using a small chainsaw to trim away limbs and trunks from invasive elms clustered around a power pole in a vacant lot in the Spokane Valley.

So Impressive!

Let me introduce you to Randy. This man is a saint. He meekly asked to paint our building, just because he loves the neighborhood, loves the people. He refused any payment for his effort, but after a lot of thought, and a degree of trepidation, made a request.
He asked for The Reclaim Project to supply him with hygiene items that he could donate to the House of Charity. Randy would not take “payment” before the job was complete. He was so excited to present a huge bag full of supplies back to the place that gave him hope.
Randy “has a story”, and I’m confident the ending will be very different from the beginning for this precious man.

I want to be like Randy…

My pest control office and non profit warehouse are in a challenging part of Spokane. We are direct next door neighbors to the House of Charity. As a social experiment, I left a box of sidewalk chalk out overnight. These are the messages that greeted me in the morning…and so shines a light in a dim world. It’s hard out here, but there are still soft hearts.
