I decided to exclusively use hardwoods on my products for the sole purpose that I love the idea that one of my tables, shelves, or anything else that I build, could one day be purchased from an antique store a 100 years from now (if that is still a thing then), and be refurbished so that it will be enjoyed for many years to come afterwards. I'm fully aware that it is more profitable to just use regular lumber from a big box store for my products. And there is nothing wrong with that for those who do go that route. I did the same thing when starting out. But I want to give my customers the best bang for their buck. And in conclusion, I felt that in order to do so, it is imperative that I take the extra steps, and not skimp out on materials. So, I only use hardwoods on my builds. And if the project calls for plywoods, I only use cabinet grade plywoods to ensure that anything I make will be made to last for generations to come.
