If you’ve lost your shade because of you had an ash tree , i’m going to talk about three really good replacements. If you replacing a lot of trees, remember to diversify and plant more than two different kinds. We have a large selection here .

Make sure you turn your volume up and watch until the end for some good smelling aromatics. i’m going to start doing tours of the nursery just so people that live further away and see what we have here and decide if they wanna make the trip.

Coneflowers.
I love coneflowers especially the Sombrero Series. We have some really pretty blooming ones in stock right now. Look I even put red and yellow together for all of you Cyclone fans ;) Most of the Sombrero Series of Coneflowers can be planted in full to part sun, bloom all summer, and I think have a really nice fragrance. These coneflowers get up to 2' and spread a little over 2'. The butterflies love them and the deer typically leave them alone (unless they are desperate). I have some of the red planted at my house! Butterfly W**d.
Last Saturday, Todd and I got on the subject of Monarch Waystations and pollinators!
I LOVE my butterfly garden and it is thriving right now. I have I think 22 Chrysalis and about 25 Caterpillars. This plant pictured below is one that is a must have for the garden. Butterfly W**d has a nice long bloom period, in fact you may see it blooming in the ditches as it is a native for us. I have been finding Caterpillars all over mine this season. It prefers full sun, has a long blooming period, can get up to 2' tall and spread about 1.5' (although I believe my one is larger than this). Who out there also raises butterflies?? Nicole

I get a lot of great photo opportunities out in our nursery. The middle picture is a photograph. I took last year and I had it made into a canvas and it hangs in our house. The other two are both of swallowtails feeding on limelight hydrangea and Liatris. We do have six or seven tables of buy one get one select perennials and shrubs .

Stunning combinations of blooms on this property! Many of these plants just arrived in our nursery today. Heliopolis, hyssop, aralia, hydrangea and more!
