Just today, I choose to release worry and fear. Just today, I honor all living things. Just today, I am grateful! I created this song and the video months and months ago, and then got in my own way and never shared it. Chloe was still alive, and very mobile. We found a beautiful place for a stroll leading to a breathtaking waterfall. As we were walking, I began to hear a song manifesting in my heart. As we got close to the waterfall, the song got louder and louder in my heart. I kept thinking to myself, “but I can’t sing”. When we arrived at the waterfall, all of the sudden, immense gratitude took over, and I found myself singing to the jungle, to the animals, to the water, and to all those who came before me. I felt the presence of many ancients gathering as I sang. I felt the jungle saying thank you right back to me. It was then that I realized it wasn’t about my lack of technical skill. It was about the jungle speaking to my heart, connecting with all that is, and letting the love spill out through my voice. I’ve passed this place a few times since it was created, and I still hear the song echoing through the falls. Now, with Chloe gone, I’ve been reviewing old videos and this one kept surfacing. As I listened to it over again, the same overwhelming feeling of love and gratitude washed over me. Today, as it popped up again, I distinctly heard in my heart that the song was given to me to share. Not to collect dust. I teach a lot about using your voice…no matter what it sounds like. So today, I’m listening to that inner voice and the invitation to share mine. Again, it is definitely not perfect. It is however, directly from my soul to yours. My intention is that it connects you to love, gratitude, and all living things. Three of the many affirmations I say each morning and night from the Reiki teachings are, just today, I choose to release worry and fear. Just today, I honor all living, and just today, I am grateful. This video, and being brave enough to post it, seems to embody those three things 💯. So here I am…And here it is…

Turn of events…
As Chloe’s health plummeted, we exchanged roles. I became her service human. I will always treasure the last few weeks.

CHLOE’s GOODBYE…
Most of you know my sweet service animal, Chloe. Some of you have experienced her holding space for you in a session, or a Reiki class. Chloe has been assisting me with my life and managing symptoms of multiple medical conditions for a very long time. I haven’t really been anywhere without her, (other than a few short vacations) for years. She grocery shops with me, she comes to doctors appointments and hospitals, she assists me with getting up hills and stairs, she notices small shifts in my breathing, blood pressure, and energy and takes action, she worked along side of me at the shop and in energy work. She is by my side always. Chloe has lived a lovely long life. She got to travel with me here to Costs Rica and spend her last months seeing the ocean, walkIng on the beach, smelling all new smells, visiting waterfalls, and loving a pampered life. A few months ago, I noticed that she was declining. Just slowing down, not chasing the ball as much, and sleeping more. This was expected for her age, and I made the decision to start moving her to retirement. Then, a few weeks ago, her health went from starting to slow down to severe mobility issues, severe metabolic disease, incontinence, inability to do stairs, severe pain, etc. after a heartbreaking few weeks with the amazing vet’s here, it has become clear that her quality of life is no longer at a level that serves. The bad days and moments far outnumber the good. The vet, my children and I have made the decision to let her go peacefully. She is currently basically on hospice care. In a few days, I will be giving her the best day she could have, the best meal she could have, then she will be surrounded by loved ones, with me loving on her and she’ll be released and will get to go be with the true love of her life, my sweet boy Jack. We would gratefully receive Reiki, love, comfort, light to any who feel called. Please feel free to express your love for her here.

I’ve hesitated to post sound until I had equipment all set up and perfect. This day, spirit just said let that go, and just play. So I did. Let go of perfectionism today. Allow any noise in your day that doesn’t seem to fit to simply exist. The experience is much better with either headphones, or turn your phone to the side and put it under your chin, eyes closed, taking long deep breaths through your nose. Take this time to just be, and to start your day clear, perfectly imperfect!

Are you a person who rescues? How often do we do that…chase after someone who is putting themselves in danger they can’t see, and we “try” to pull them out and rescue, or do the work for them. How often do we risk our own peace begging someone to “let us help” when the person does not want to be helped. It’s only in steady presence, and giving them the tools to pull themselves out and rescue themselves that actually works. I’ve been stating lately that I am no longer a rescuer. Nature taught me that lesson again tonight…

Today, I want to honor fathers.

The fathers who showed up.

The fathers who worked long hours to provide.

The fathers who taught, protected, encouraged, and loved the best way they knew how.

The fathers who stepped into roles they never expected.

The fathers who are raising children, grandchildren, stepchildren, and bonus children.

The fathers who are no longer with us, yet whose love continues to ripple through generations.

Thank you.

At the same time, I want to acknowledge that Father's Day isn't easy for everyone.

Some are grieving fathers they deeply loved.

Some are grieving relationships they wish they had.

Some are navigating complicated memories of fathers who were both loving and deeply flawed.

Some are healing from abandonment, neglect, addiction, abuse, or absence.

Some fathers are spending today missing children they don't get to see.

Some are carrying guilt, regret, or wishing they could go back and do things differently.

Some are spending their first Father's Day without a child.

Some mothers have spent years carrying both roles, doing their best to provide the love, guidance, protection, and support of two people.

And some of us are simply holding a mixture of gratitude, grief, love, sadness, healing, and hope all at once.

Life is rarely as simple as a greeting card.

Families are complicated.

Relationships are complicated.

Healing is complicated.

So wherever Father's Day finds you today, may you offer yourself a little extra compassion.

May you celebrate what deserves celebrating.

May you grieve what needs grieving.

May you honor the lessons, release what no longer serves you, and remember that it is possible to hold both love and pain at the same time.

To the fathers who loved well, thank you.

To those carrying complicated feelings today, I see you.

And to anyone walking a healing path, may today bring a little more understanding, peace, and compassion—for yourself and for those who came before you.

Inhale, exhale, repeat...

love, love, love you all!

Pura Vida!!! It is the Costa Rica way of life. I was just thinking yesterday that it had been far too long since I saw monkeys. Today, I was taking a break and washing my dishes. I looked up, and there they were. Playing, chattering, visiting! Of course I dropped everything and seized the moment. That is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned here. Truly LIVE each breath. Stop and smell the roses…and the fruits, and the ylang ylang, stop and interact with nature. Take time to enjoy the company you are with at dinner. Slow down. And when animals show up, just BE.
