Day one of Washington state opener was a huge success! With mallards, wigeon, gadwall, teal, pintail, and shovelers. 7 man limits made for another opening day memory!

Another opener in the books!!! Plenty of birds, with great weather! Blind was full of laughs and s**t talking per usual! If your wonder why I am holding a blue wing teal well they are not super popular around here but we have managed to kill a opening day blue winger for the last 4 years straight lol so the tradition lives on!

Some of the coolest hunts are the ones you didn’t expect to work out or last minute plans with new people! Got a phone call On 1 January for my buddy I play hockey with saying you had a friend in town that was a big duck hunter and if you could surprise him with a duck hunt it would be pretty cool. So we made it happen and everything kind of worked out better but these guys got their first pintails Ryan got his first ever duck and we made some new friends and some lifelong memories that’s what duck hunting is all about!

Today we executed our memorial hunt in memory of WA natives SFC Emond and SGT Jasso both recently killed in action in Afghanistan. 3 GBs including myself and 2 Rangers to include Ranger veteran Tim Othy and veteran and founder of the Eric Bakken absolutely crushed em today sealing the deal on 6 limits in SW WA. Special thanks to Special OPS Xcursions for supporting today’s event and our SOF warriors, but most importantly, Rest In Peace to our fellow brothers that have gone before us. It’s because of them we can do what we do. “Living our dreams because they gave up theirs”

High winds on the coast means the inland sheet water loaded up fast! We took advantage of the weather and boy did it pay off!!
