Rob O Rods I have been building custom fishing rods since 2017. I start out with a high quality rod blank and let my imagination go from there.

I have custom built rods specifically for Fluke, Sea Bass, Stripers, Blues, Trout, Bass, and Salmon and Steelhead.

I had a chance to fish with Kingfisher Charters on Sunday for some Black Sea Bass in Long Island Sound.

What a fantastic trip!

Captain Mark Anderson put us right on the fish. We had jumbo size keepers coming over the rail immediately. Once the bite slowed, he would move us to another spot and the bite was on again. Captain Mark was not afraid to move around to keep the action hot. We had our boat limit of fish in a couple of hours.

The boat was extremely clean and they kept it that way all through the day. Pete, who was mating that day, would spray down the boat numerous times while moving between drifts to make sure it was clean and no one was getting any squid juice or blood on themselves. Bait was plentiful and cut into good size strips.

The boat also has two new 250hp engines that made the trip out to the fishing grounds super fast and smooth.

Overall a fantastic day on the water and I highly recommend Kingfisher Charters out of Old Saybrook, CT.

I am really proud of the way this rod turned out. The colors are amazing, especially the blue marbling.
This rod was made to withstand some serious fishing and neglect by the owner (lol). The shaft is covered by a heat shrinking rubber to protect the rod blank while in the rod holder.

Here is a cool ultralight trout rod for a friend of mine who has a couple of my other custom rods. This UL rod has carbon fiber grips and a cool looking green metallic thread pattern.

I really wish I could take better and brighter videos. My phone just does not take the kind of videos my rods deserve.

An 11.5 foot bait-caster steelhead rod built for a buddy of mine who lives in Canada. He wanted carbon fiber grips and he likes a low key look. I struggled with the low key black and silver as I like my builds to stand out with lots of pop and color.. needless to say he loved the rod.

Hey everybody, it’s been awhile since I post a rod build. My buddy asked me to build him a fluke/sea bass rod for Long Island Sound. We went over his want list and came up with this beauty.
North Fork Composites delta rod blank with Alps guides and spiral wrapped.

He wanted it to match the green colors of his favorite beer can . Tree House “The Greenest Green.
