Last week's storms left this property owner with a large broken branch hanging directly over their home. While it was still attached, the damaged limb created a safety concern for the roof and surrounding property. 🌳⚠️

Last year, a Springfield homeowner reached out to Huffman Tree Company just looking to trim some lower branches that had started hanging a little too low.

During that visit, our crew took a closer inspection of the tree—something just didn’t look right. After a closer look, we found a significant crack running up the trunk that was visible from the ground once we were on site and evaluating it closely.

At that point, trimming wasn’t enough. We recommended immediate removal to avoid the risk of the tree coming down unexpectedly, especially with a home right next door.

Fast forward to today, and we completed the removal safely. The before-and-after photos really show why that decision mattered.

We wanted to let everyone know that a couple of our guys were involved in a truck accident while traveling down a country road near Dayton. The truck got off the edge of the road on the passenger side, and when the driver tried to get back onto the roadway, the truck lost control and rolled onto its side.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt. That's all we can really ask for in a situation like this.

It's definitely a scary thing to go through, but we're incredibly thankful that everyone walked away okay and gets to go home to their families. The truck can be fixed or replaced. Our crew can't.

Saturday’s storms left behind some serious damage across the Springfield and Urbana areas. This homeowner experienced a large tree limb failure that came down onto their mobile home, creating an immediate safety hazard.

Sometimes removing a tree is about more than just appearance—it's about safety and improving your property for the future.
