"With enough butter anything is good." -Julia Child 🧈

Today's post is all about butter! This duo just might encourage you to make your own butter. That's what I did with my kids this week, and it was so much fun! 🥛

The Butter Book is all about butter, of course! It gives you a brief history of butter, shows you how to make it, offers tips on how to be a better butter shopper, introduces you to butter accessories, and invites you to try many new recipes. Pancakes for Breakfast is one of our all-time favorite wordless picture books. I just love the scenes that give young readers a peek at just how butter is made. While attempting to make pancakes, the main character must have butter. So, she milks a cow and churns the milk into butter herself! What a great way to show young readers where butter really comes from. 🐄

I'm adding this beauty to my list of favorites for 2026! It's a splendid story to share on World Bee Day, coming up on May 20th. 🐝

The Little Bee is an un-bee-lievably sweet story! It follows one young girl named Ollie who sees a bee outside her window. She loves bees, so she decides to see where it is going. She follows it into her yard to see that it enjoys some of her flowers. Then she realizes that there aren't enough flowers to keep the bee busy, and she watches it fly over the fence. When she grabs her bike to track down the bee she is led to a secret garden full of wildflowers, long grasses, leafy trees, and so many tiny creatures. Could she ever make her own yard bee friendly? 🌼

What a beautiful story this is! With a color scheme that is so lovely and unique, many clever die-cut pages, and the sweetest environmental message, this is a definite win! And, it's part of a series, too! ☀️

This adorable board book is one of my 4-year-old's new favorites. I'm beyond ready for lawn-mowing days here, but we just received a bunch of snow yesterday. Oh, Spring, where are you? 🌼

Lawn-Mowing Day follows three little critters on their lawn mowing adventures. When the grass has grown too tall, they take out their safety gear, reel mower, push mower, and lawn tractor, and they get to work. They make lines, diamonds, waves, and circles as they mow.
