This week marks 8 years of Vinyl Index! We have truly enjoyed getting to know everyone who has walked through our door and love the communal space our shop has become. After thirteen years of silence from the compound, during which anticipation has grown day by day, BOARDS OF CANADA finally return! INFERNO retains their signature melodies and atmospheres, drawing on the esoteric influences and darker ambience previously introduced, further deepened by an expanded role for speech soundbites. Spanning seventy minutes, the new album is available on two 2LP vinyl editions - deluxe transparent red vinyl housed in a triple gatefold w/ a 16 page booklet or as a standard black version.

vinyl index is super excited to host an EARLY LISTENING SESSION on Thursday, May 28 at 7:30pm during which we’ll play the album through and have both variants available for sale early! We’ll be spinning BoC classics before that to set the stage for Inferno so pop by sooner and get in the zone! See you then ✨

RECORD STORE DAY RECAP! Record Store Day 2026 was a huge success, massive thanks to everyone who came through, your support of the culture and our shop are so very much appreciated! It was probably our biggest RSD yet. It takes a village aka too many people to tag but we gotta give an extra special shout out to our dude for documenting for us!
