The girls are getting a little break from sturgeon fishing down in Idaho and have been hard at work helping me get the Alaska boats ready for summer! 🎣☀️

We hit the ground running when we got home—had a fishing trip the very afternoon I landed and have been fishing ever since. The weather has been beautiful, the fish have been cooperating, and there seems to be plenty to go around.

Between scrubbing, organizing, loading gear, and making sure everything is ready for the season, Avery and Zoey have been earning their keep. I’m not sure if they’re helping me or just making sure they get first dibs on banana split at DQ and boat rides! 😆

Summer is officially underway, and we’re looking forward to making a bunch of great memories on the water. Let’s go fishing! 🎣🐟 ❤️

Jet pump rebuild: ✅

The girls and I tore the jet pump completely apart and replaced everything. Brand-new parts, brand-new stainless impeller, and hopefully a few extra miles per hour! 🚤

We started the project up in Quincy, then headed to Lewiston to grab the rest of the parts. The boys at American Turbine kept an eye on me in the parking lot to make sure I wasn’t putting it together backwards. 😂

Good people are hard to find. They helped us get everything dialed in, answered a million questions, and even cooked me a burger for lunch. At this point, I’m not sure if I went there for jet pump parts or the burgers! 🍔

Huge thanks to everyone who helped out. The girls learned a lot, the boat is back together, and we’re ready to put this thing to work! 🎣🚤💪

The girls had another awesome day on the water! 🎣☀️

We hooked into a couple of big ones, but called it a little early when sore arms, blisters, and a healthy dose of sunburn started winning the battle. 😆

After fishing, we made a supply run, loaded the cooler up, and wrapped up the evening with a taco feast. 🌮🔥

The fun didn’t stop there—Zoey decided my toenails needed a makeover, and Avery took her artistic talents to the next level by giving Ryan a brand-new “tattoo.” 🎨😂

Big fish, tacos, questionable beauty treatments, and unforgettable memories. Sounds like a pretty perfect day to me! ❤️🎣

Avery and Zoey had an epic day of sturgeon fishing today! 🎣

We landed 7 fish total — 3 big bruisers and a few smaller ones to keep things exciting. The real drama of the day belonged to Zoey. After battling an absolute monster sturgeon for over an hour, the fish found some rocks, wrapped the line up, and won its freedom.

The worst part? We actually got to see the giant jump before it broke off! 🤦‍♂️🐟

So now we’ve got another legendary fishing story to add to the collection: “The Big One That Got Away.” 😂

The fish may have escaped, but the memories didn’t. Great day on the water with these girls, plenty of laughs, sore arms, and one fish that’s probably still telling its friends about the kid it barely escaped from! 🎣💪😎

First the axle on the trailer goes out… now I’m pretty sure the boat’s water pump decided it wanted a vacation too. 😂

No worries though — at this rate I’m basically just touring taco stands between breakdowns. Breakfast tacos, lunch tacos, dinner tacos… honestly this fishing trip is starting to feel more like a professional taco review tour. 🌮

Boat might be falling apart, but morale is still running strong. Life’s good. 🤙

Another classic Loomis adventure in the books. 😂

Flew into Spokane where my little buddy Mercy picked me up at the airport. Borrowed her husband Buck’s truck, then headed to my hometown to meet up with another good buddy, Michael Langer, to get the old Suburban halfway respectable and fishing-season ready.

Next stop: Lewiston… where things immediately stayed right on schedule for my life. 🤦‍♂️

Blew out the rear axle on my boat trailer, so naturally I launched the boat on two tires anyway and left it in the river for the entire week where I camped in the boat and did all my fishing trips for the week until the trailer got fixed. Pretty sure that’s exactly how the owner’s manual says to do it. 😂

Trailer’s fixed now, the rigs are rolling again, and honestly it just reminded me how lucky I am to have good friends. The kind of people you might not see for a while, but the second you’re back together it’s like no time passed at all.

A little chaos, a lot of laughs, good people, and another story nobody would believe if we didn’t live it. Life is good. 🍻🎣

Crunch time here at Eric Loomis Fishing—boat’s getting dialed in and ready for the upcoming season!

Every year I tell myself I’ll be ahead of schedule… and every year we end up right here 😅 rods everywhere, gear piles growing, and me wondering how I own this much stuff.

A lot of you are already on the books (smart move 👊), but if you’re not—what are you waiting for? The fish aren’t gonna catch themselves… and I’m definitely not getting any better looking sitting at the dock.

It’s been a couple years in the making, but it’s getting closer…

Picked up a couple boats down in Chile and I’m getting ready to head back down south to chase big king salmon again. For those of you that have been up here with me in Alaska, you already know how good those days on the water can get.

We’re packing up a container full of fishing rods, gear, tackle—everything we need to go chase big king salmon the right way.

Now we’re turning the season around and heading the other direction — November through March, it’s game time down there.

Same fish, different hemisphere… and you know there’s going to be a lot of bent rods and good memories again. 🎣 Looks like we might be waiting a while for the kings to come back to the Kenai. so in the meantime, we’ll chase reds and silvers in Alaska and catch big king down there!

After only 23 years of owning this boat… I’m finally getting caught up 😅

Got the bottom sandblasted so I can finally start covering it with Wetlander. Funny thing is, when I first got it, I was planning to Gluvit the whole thing. Guess it turns out if you procrastinate long enough, they just invent something better for you 🤷‍♂️

At this rate, by the time I finish the rest, I’ll probably be using technology that hasn’t even been invented yet.
