Operation Humpy Hunt is officially underway! 🎣💪

I’ve got a boat full of young anglers, ages 9 to 12, and the mission is simple: catch as many humpies as we can on the Kenai River! We even picked up a couple of silvers along the way, which definitely didn’t hurt! 😎🐟

These boys are all smiles, full of questions, and bringing enough energy to keep the fish on their toes. Watching kids hook into salmon and make memories on the water never gets old.

Let’s see who landed the biggest one… and who tells the biggest fish story by the end of the day! 😂🐟

Summer has been an absolute blast! 🎣 I’ve had the chance to catch up with a bunch of clients I haven’t seen in a while, tell a few old stories (some of them might even be true 😆), and laugh until our sides hurt.

The fish have been biting… and apparently so have the hooks. 🤦‍♂️ Took a quick pit stop at urgent care to have one removed from my hand. I’d like to say I was fighting a giant salmon… but let’s just say the hook won that round.

Here’s to great people, great memories, and hopefully keeping the hooks in the fish for the rest of the season! 😂🎣

It’s been a wild week here at the LoomIs house. Early mornings, late nights, and somehow 3 hours of sleep seems to be the new normal. It’s been an emotional roller coaster—some tough moments, some amazing moments, and plenty of memories made along the way.

One of our clients, who quickly became a friend, went through something no family should ever have to face. Their van rolled over, and they lost one of their brothers. It’s a heartbreaking reminder that life can change in an instant.

This week has reminded me to love harder, laugh louder, forgive quicker, and live every day like it could be your last. Hug your family, call your friends, and don’t take a single day for granted.

We’ve been whittling away toward a salmon limit today with a super fun group! 🎣

The fish have been cooperating just enough to keep us honest, the rods have been bending, and the cooler is slowly getting heavier. At this pace, we’ll either hit our limit or wear out the net trying! 😆

Great people, lots of laughs, and plenty of salmon action. Days like this are hard to beat!

Digging through the archives today and packing another tote full of gear for Chile next February and March. It’s amazing how much tackle finds its way into the “must bring” pile. 😂

I’m especially looking forward to seeing how the Agent Orange K16 performs down there. New water, big fish, and another adventure waiting just around the corner. Stay tuned… this should be fun! 🎣🇨🇱

The girls are getting a little break from sturgeon fishing down in Idaho and have been hard at work helping me get the Alaska boats ready for summer! 🎣☀️

We hit the ground running when we got home—had a fishing trip the very afternoon I landed and have been fishing ever since. The weather has been beautiful, the fish have been cooperating, and there seems to be plenty to go around.

Between scrubbing, organizing, loading gear, and making sure everything is ready for the season, Avery and Zoey have been earning their keep. I’m not sure if they’re helping me or just making sure they get first dibs on banana split at DQ and boat rides! 😆

Summer is officially underway, and we’re looking forward to making a bunch of great memories on the water. Let’s go fishing! 🎣🐟 ❤️

Jet pump rebuild: ✅

The girls and I tore the jet pump completely apart and replaced everything. Brand-new parts, brand-new stainless impeller, and hopefully a few extra miles per hour! 🚤

We started the project up in Quincy, then headed to Lewiston to grab the rest of the parts. The boys at American Turbine kept an eye on me in the parking lot to make sure I wasn’t putting it together backwards. 😂

Good people are hard to find. They helped us get everything dialed in, answered a million questions, and even cooked me a burger for lunch. At this point, I’m not sure if I went there for jet pump parts or the burgers! 🍔

Huge thanks to everyone who helped out. The girls learned a lot, the boat is back together, and we’re ready to put this thing to work! 🎣🚤💪

The girls had another awesome day on the water! 🎣☀️

We hooked into a couple of big ones, but called it a little early when sore arms, blisters, and a healthy dose of sunburn started winning the battle. 😆

After fishing, we made a supply run, loaded the cooler up, and wrapped up the evening with a taco feast. 🌮🔥

The fun didn’t stop there—Zoey decided my toenails needed a makeover, and Avery took her artistic talents to the next level by giving Ryan a brand-new “tattoo.” 🎨😂

Big fish, tacos, questionable beauty treatments, and unforgettable memories. Sounds like a pretty perfect day to me! ❤️🎣

Avery and Zoey had an epic day of sturgeon fishing today! 🎣

We landed 7 fish total — 3 big bruisers and a few smaller ones to keep things exciting. The real drama of the day belonged to Zoey. After battling an absolute monster sturgeon for over an hour, the fish found some rocks, wrapped the line up, and won its freedom.

The worst part? We actually got to see the giant jump before it broke off! 🤦‍♂️🐟

So now we’ve got another legendary fishing story to add to the collection: “The Big One That Got Away.” 😂

The fish may have escaped, but the memories didn’t. Great day on the water with these girls, plenty of laughs, sore arms, and one fish that’s probably still telling its friends about the kid it barely escaped from! 🎣💪😎
