Word-of-mouth is far, far better for independent retailers than advertising because real client testimonials mean something. This is our 13th annual event. I am grateful excited to be able to say that, as 65% of small businesses close within the first 10 years. You know the quality of what RLC carries. Tell a friend.

1. Literally tell a friend about Riley/Land.
2. Share your favorite product. Post a photo of something you've purchased and tell people why you love it.
3. Leave a review on our website - or, if you're a wholesale customer, on our Faire shop.
4. Introduce us to your favorite gift shop, gourmet store, museum shop, or boutique.

Celebrating my mama, who is my most under-paid counselor, and all moms today.

Mothers keep homes warm, tables full, traditions alive, and everyone moving forward. Even when it seems like you’re going in circles. They light the candle before guests arrive, pass down handwritten recipes, set the table “just because,” and make a house feel lived in, daily.

Growing up on a working farm, I spent many, many days in our family’s hay fields. They usually start cutting the fields in mid-May, and last summer when I was home, the scent spoke to me. I made a note that I wanted to create a candle that conveys that scent. And that’s exactly what we did.

This candle is called Beckham Hollow, which is the name of one of the hollows on our farm. My mama’s daddy’s mama’s family was the Beckham family. My great-grandmother (Mama Nell) was born in that hollow. I took this photo of the hayfield. This is home. 

Boilerplate: every month I create a new proprietary scent and we make a limited number of units. They’re all made with vegan soy, hand-poured, using double wicks. They burn beautifully for about 60 hours.

Every item has a story.
For more than a decade, our handmade wooden bowls have been part of the backbone of The Riley/Land Collection. Crafted from fallen trees, each piece reveals the beauty already hidden within the grain — shaped, finished, and given new life through use.
No two are alike. Each bowl is named, each with its own character, and each made to be used for years to come. Few things are more rewarding than knowing they leave here and become part of someone else’s home and story.

“Like sweet morning dew, I took one look at you and it was plain to see you were my destiny.”

April showers and all... When we created this scent, it immediately made me think of the morning dew... which, in turn, immediately took me to the Tammy Terrell/Marvin Gaye classic (written by the one and only songwriting duo Ashford & Simpson) “You’re All I Need to Get By.” I learned of the original after hearing the Method Man/Mary J. Blige single “I’ll Be There For You/You’re All I Need to Get By.” which is one of my all-time favorite songs. 

What does all of that have to do with this candle? Not a lot other than the explanation of where I get my inspiration for candle-naming. This one is filled with fresh scents - tangerine, cedar, sage, and orange blossom. It smells like morningtime, with a sweet, relaxing scent.
