What an incredible evening last Saturday! 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Uplift Reception. Seeing artists share their stories, visitors connect with the artwork, and our community come together around themes of hope, encouragement, and resilience was truly special.

If you made it out, thank you for being part of it.

If you missed it, you still have one final week to experience the Uplift Exhibition. With over 50 pieces of uplifting artwork on display, there's still time to find the piece that speaks to you and bring it home.

🎨 The final opportunity to view and purchase artwork from the exhibition is during the Simply Smyrna Celebration on June 13. After that, the exhibition comes down.

And we're not stopping there!

📚 On June 20, join us for the release party of Hugs of Happiness and Hugs of Color by local artist and author Maryanne VanDyke.

Gather your friends and join us for a fun, creative experience filled with laughter, color, and community. Four sessions are available.

And while you're here, we have a challenge for you:

👀 Count how many butterflies you can find throughout the exhibition!

Butterflies have a way of appearing throughout the collection as symbols of transformation, resilience, renewal, and hope. Some are easy to spot. Others might require a closer look.

With more than 50 works of art on display through June 13, there's plenty to discover—and you never know which piece might be exactly the encouragement you need.

How do we get through hard times? What does hope look like?

At Trellis & Vine Art Gallery, our Uplift Exhibition explores those questions with about 50 pieces of artwork centered on encouragement, resilience, and hope.

In this reel, I’m sharing just four pieces that capture that spirit so beautifully:

✨ With Songs of Joy Surround Me — a reminder that even in hard seasons, we can be lifted, carried, and surrounded by joy as we move through what was meant to break us.

✨ Where We Exhale — a quiet landscape of sky, mountains, and blooms reminding us that hope doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful; sometimes it is a steady, gentle reminder to breathe and reground that's what we need to take the next step.

✨ Look Mama I’m Strong — the joyful confidence of a child discovering his own strength and reminding us of the courage it takes to keep going and tap into our resilience.

✨ Reignited — a beautiful image of forgotten dreams being relit; proof that what feels abandoned may only be waiting for the right spark.

To me, these works remind us that hope is not the absence of struggle, but it’s learning how to move forward and create something beautiful from what was meant to break us.

How has the online world shaped your reality?

This month at Trellis & Vine our walls are filled with powerful student-created artwork that tells real stories about life in a digital world.

Through our partnerships with Carpe Artista and Wired Human, middle school, high school, and college students are using art to process and express their experiences with social media, technology, and the digital landscape.

This is more than an exhibit. It’s a movement to empower students to have a voice to reflect on their world and share what it’s really like growing up in it.

📣 We want YOU in the room.

🔥Hot Take on Painted Tree Store Closing from a Local Art Gallery Owner:

It’s always hard to see creative and small businesses close. And the closing of Painted Tree Boutique is a real loss for our community. Spaces like that matter. They give the community a place to show up, discover something meaningful, and engage with the arts. They give artists a place to be seen, to be supported, and to share what they’ve created. They give us a "third space" where community and creativity come together.

👩‍🎨But here’s what I want people to know: there are still places where real artists are doing real, meaningful work right here in Rutherford County. And they need our support now more than ever.

If you’re looking to support local artists, here are just a few places to start, (please share others I've missed!!):
