Worked on the bones/skeletal part of acoustic guitars today, the internal braces. Split from 4x1” billets of Sitka spruce using a mallet and razor sharp chisel then tried using the shooter board to true up the face but changed to the drum sander pretty quickly. About halfway done with the prep work. Gotta clean up and cut the pieces in the bucket to length. Enough for 5-6 guitars here!

Split up 5 billets of Sitka spruce brace wood. Very rewarding to use the old school method instead of ripping on a saw. Next up will be cleaning up the pieces with the hand plane and shooter board. My jointer needs its blades sharpened otherwise I would use it.
