Happy Indie Bookstore Day!

I know, I know. I’ve been missing in action the past several weeks. Trust me when I say I miss you all and wish I was at the top of my game with everything. So how am I?

—Very pregnant and exhausted. I’m at 30 weeks now and am focusing on my health to keep me and baby going strong. That’s meant lots of bed rest I don’t want and the stubborn acceptance that I can’t do all the things right now. It’s been a struggle.

—Very grateful. My family’s been taking care of me. Friends have been checking in. And you readers have been keeping the online store busy. I’ve gotten to ship books all over the country, fulfill special orders, and secure your much-anticipated preorders. Keep ‘em coming!

—Very lucky. For all of the above and for the opportunity to keep this indie shop alive and well. I know things look differently now, but support for independent bookstores is strong, and that’s what today is all about!

• I've got preorders ready at oldetownebooks.com for the much-anticipated 6th and 7th installments of A Court of Thorns and Roses. If you aren't attending a local release party, order through us for easy pickup on release day!

• Fresco Farmers Market (located at our OG address 2254 First Street) will be our new pickup location for local orders. Select "Fresco Farmers Market Pickup Spot" during checkout. This new indoor market in Olde Towne features so many local goods and is growing everyday. Community is everything. Support local!

I'm excited to announce we'll soon be a vendor at Fresco's new indoor farmers market. Olde Towne Books + Gifts will include some of your favorite goodies to purchase.

The net proceeds from these sales goes right back into the nonprofit and getting more books into the hands of young readers, so don't hesitate to treat yourself (and others) to a bookish gift.

Y'all realize Fresco Farmers Market is in the exact spot where our original bookstore started, right? We've come full circle, and I kind of love that for all of us.

3 very busy days and 1 very tired me, but we said, "So long and thanks for all the fish" to our First Street location. My teens are certainly happy to be done with the heavy lifting.

I'm so grateful for the help with clearing out the store (that includes all of you who took furniture!).

Now, I'm juggling online orders, local orders, and a super messy home office as I get re-situated.

Stay tuned for some awesome updates, and I'll get back to regularly posting again soon! I'll even give you a little tour of my new setup.

Onto the next phase!

Seriously, thank you all for your continuing support. Together we can make a huge difference in literacy by increasing access to books and helping young readers long before they can fall through the cracks. And at the same time...I'll keep your bookshelves happy.

I'm really feeling the love today, y'all! So many familiar faces and so many new friends.

Most of the bookshelves have been claimed which thrills me because that means home libraries are about to expand exponentially! 🥰

We still have several smaller-to-medium sized shelves, one kids' shelf (because forward-facing books make a big difference for little ones), a futon, and a few other things.

Tomorrow's the final day! We'll be here 12:00 - 4:00.
