Here are the guidelines for Free Comic Book Day at the NY and IL Aw Yeah Comics locations.
Hello fans and friends. Here is some important info regarding Free Comic Book Day, which is this Saturday, August 14th.
Our hours are 11 am to 5 pm. FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED!!!!
Each person can choose THREE free comics from our predetermined selection. (No, not everything in the store is free.)
Please don't use tiny babies to get yourself three more comics. Not cool, bro.
ENTER THE HOUSE OF SLAUGHTER and STRAY DOGS will be limited to ONE PER FAMILY!
No duplicates. Choose three DIFFERENT comics from the selection.
No, you are not allowed to look through every copy looking for the nicest one.
These rules are in place to help us offer the best service and experience to the largest amount of people. Please be a part of that.
Also, please remember that the comics, while free to you, are not free to us. We greatly appreciate you making a purchase of some kind while you are here.
As a reward for that, if you spend $30 or more that day, you will get 20% of you total. (It does not apply to subscriptions, preorders, or items claimed in a live sale)
We didn't go super crazy on the amount of books we ordered this year, as we are still playing it safe during the pandemic. (That is why we don't have any signing guests this time around) We DO expect to run out of books, so come early.

Oh dang! Next week!

We’re keeping it “Lo-ki” but that doesn’t mean we won’t be shouting, “Free Comic Book Day is extremely nigh!”, constantly to ourselves, in our heads, with excitement until the day arrives.

FCBD on Saturday, August 14th, is a straight-up holiday for us comic folks. It’s the best day of the year & is always nothing but a good time with good folks & plenty of good books to go around.

A proper FCBD however, isn’t complete until you have some actual comic creators on board to celebrate with. This year, we’re proud to announce that Chicago’s very-own Kyle Faehnrich @goonsngoblins will be here to doodle a bit & set-up shop. His shop will be barren come days end cuz you’re gonna want to buy ALL THAT HE BRINGS.
