We were fortunate enough to get a sneak preview of the Jack Simpson Trio at J. Rieck Music today. Jack, Quinn, and Henry are entering their senior year at the USC Thornton School of Music. They will be performing tonight at the Jazz Jam at Trio Jazz Club, and will also be featured in their own shows this Friday and Saturday at Trio Jazz Club.

Clean wiring isn't just about presentation, it can be a great way to eliminate those pesky mysterious buzzes and intermittent issues within a circuit. While I generally always recommend installing new components when rewiring a guitar, this case had some sentimental value and needed to stay as original as possible. For that, I removed most of the original wire, cleaned the components and rewired it while keeping the original control scheme.

One unique things about our shop is that, because we have luthiers in house, we can make sure that our guitars actually play right off the wall! As a player, nothing is worse than seeing a guitar you've dreamt about in a shop only to find that the strings are corroded, and sitting a mile off the fretboard!

I was able to go through this original Silvertone "Chris Issak" and give it a full set up and cleaning before putting it out in our showroom. I HIGHLY recommend you come check it out cause I don't anticipate it lasting long.

A few of the odd little things I made this week that make the guitar work go together cleanly. In the first pic, an aluminum bracket i made to fit a two hole humbucker into a 3 hole pickguard. The second pic is a custom-fit pair of walnut trem blocks for a customer who didn't want to use their trem. Many jobs require little things like these that don't get the attention the more glamorous jobs do, but I still think they're neat.
