IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TODAY:
Dear Customers,
We regret to inform you that we will remain closed, at least for lunch today (Tuesday, November 18th). I wanted to update you on the reason for our recent closures.
In August, we installed a new, state-of-the-art pizza oven—a hybrid of a traditional brick oven and a consistent conveyor oven—to deliver better, faster, and more consistent pizzas.
While results have often been excellent, our natural gas supply could not consistently maintain the necessary pressure. This caused pizzas to be inconsistent, ranging from underbaked when pressure dropped to burnt when we tried to compensate.
We have been working with Washington Gas, Kemp Mill Shopping Center, and Sky Plumbing for a gas pressure upgrade, which was finally completed yesterday. (A huge thanks to KPO for temporarily turning off their gas for the work.)
Now, Sky Plumbing (thank you Noam for coming after hours!) has tested the connection and adjusted the regulators. We are currently waiting for the oven company to send a technician to calibrate the oven settings for the increased pressure and handle other maintenance. The tech is scheduled for "this afternoon" as the second stop on their route.
Our plan is to reopen this evening after the technician's visit, hopefully in the early afternoon, but it is TBD.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. G-d willing, this will result in better, faster, and more consistent pizzas. If not, the staff may sack me.
Thank you for your patience.
Josh
