Congratulations to David Dearborn, winner of the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show NCAA Basketball Pool. David had more correct picks (48 out of 63) than any other entrant, and also nailed the two finalists and the national champion, which sealed his victory. In addition to winning a 2025-26 Topps Chrome McDonald's All-American Basketball Mega Box, David has earned the title 'DMV Hobby Community's Chief Bracketologist' ... at least for the next 12 months.

See you in a few weeks at the Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show - Spring Edition 2026!

I've posted a calendar of 38 sports and TCG card shows in the DMV over the next six months. This is very much a work in progress, but it is far enough along that I wanted to go ahead and share. On the desktop version, you can navigate to specific months. It includes a form at the bottom where you can submit corrections and additions. And if for any reason you don't want your event listed, just let me know. Apologies in advance for any mistakes ... hoping with some crowdsourcing, the calendar will grow and improve. 🫶 -Ryan

As we roll into the final week of March Madness, it’s a two-man race with the Michigan-Arizona semifinal determining the victor of the Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show NCAA Pool.

First an honorable mention…

Matthew M. correctly picked 3 of the Final Four, including the Fighting Illini! If Cayden Boozer had just held on to that ball at midcourt, Matthew would have picked all 4 Final Four teams and likely coasted to the trophy! As it is, much like the Duke Blue Devils, Matthew has been mathematically eliminated from contention and unceremoniously discarded in the dumpster of Mid-Atlantic NCAA Pool history.

Which brings us to the main event…

Sebastian S. lays claim to being the DMV Hobby’s Chief Bracketologist and wins the Topps Chrome McDonald’s basketball mega box with an Arizona win. If it’s Michigan, it goes to David D.

Congratulations to all 42 entrants in this most prestigious of all NCAA pools. See you on May 3 at the Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show - Spring Edition 2026!

DMV Hobby Fam -- with 2 rounds down and the Sweet Sixteen starting tomorrow, it’s time to check in on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show NCAA March Madness Pool…

First, props to the 50 registrants (and 42 who actually filled out their brackets).

Sebastian S. gets the “first off the line / fast start” award for correctly picking 28 of the 32 first round games.

Six entrants hit the gas in the second round, correctly picking 12 of 16 games (Cameron M., David, D., Lee F., Matty N., Michele V., and Richie G.).

Here is your current leaderboard:

1. David D. (51 points)
2. Sebastian S. (50)
3. Mark R. (49)
4. Cameron M. (49)
5. Richie G (49)

For the mids, don’t despair. 30 of the 42 brackets still have a mathematical chance of winning the entire pool. Unfortunately Mid-Atlantic Collectibles, your faithful ‘Commish, authored one of the 12 brackets that has been fully cooked.

Lastly, let’s look at the upsets. Not a single bracket had Iowa coming out over defending NCAA champ Florida. Only 4 entrants foresaw High Point U’s win over Wisconsin. And only 12 brackets took Texas ( #11 seed) over BYU ( #6 seed).

On the other hand 17 entrants had VCU knocking off North Carolina. How the mighty have fallen!

So there you go. If you know any of these brilliant game pickers, be sure to pay homage.

And see you May 3 at our last show before the end of summer! Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show - Spring Edition 2026!
