Exciting News! Weekend at the Galleries (WAG) will be the first weekend in April this year! Our artist spotlight for the event will be Michael Wilkinson with his show, “Romantic Realism”.

We want to give a warm welcome to Michael Wilkinson. He comes to us all the way from New York! Welcome to the Silver City art scene!

Micheal’s figurative works come to striking life with an immense sense of whimsy and calm, or as in his words, “In an age where the purpose of much “art” is to shock, offend, or bewilder, art of beauty and meaning is a bright spot; a balm for our eyes and our souls...”. His works span from cast bronze, acrylic, and concrete.

Please join us April 3rd for our 1st Friday gallery walk and opening evening for the Weekend at the Galleries event. We will have refreshments, art, and a chance to meet the artist of these wonderful works!

Opening Reception: Friday, April 3rd, 5-7pm

Whats this!? Chocolates everywhere!!!
Made In Silver City will be on the map for this year’s Chocolate Fantasia by Mimbres Regional Arts Council.

This year’s chocolates were provided by a dear friend of one of our business partners. They are Silver City born and raised! She currently resides as a Canadian, but has started a business of her own!!! Thanks so so much Grand River Confections! They are amazing!!!

Chocolate flavors:
Milk chocolate salted caramel
White chocolate vanilla & prickly pear

We look forward to seeing you all this Saturday!

Hey there all!
Been a while since we’ve posted! We’ll discuss that soon, but right quick here’s what’s going on this Friday and Saturday!
First off, it’s First Friday art walk for downtown Silver City galleries! We’ll have a few refreshments from 5pm-7pm! Come see us and make sure you go visit the other participating galleries.
Saturday we are taking part in the Love Local by Main street. We’re offering one entry for chance to win a Valentine’s Day gift box! One entry for purchase of $10 and up!

This basket includes:
1 laser cut and engraved box
1 laser cut pair of earrings
1 laser cut keychain
1 hand made paper rose card
1 crystal window hanging made by artist Chelsea Boone
4 sweet candies!
This will he available until Feb. 14 at 3pm, when the winner will be drawn and contacted.

It was a rainy First Friday which we love here in the desert but if that kept you home, we want to remind you that“Works by John Rogers - A Retrospective” is up through the 27th. John’s family is donating all proceeds from this show to Virus Theater and to the Velasco Education Fund.

Don’t forget to check out Chelsea Boone’s fabulous new jewelry and new (to us) artist, Ginny Wolf’s super cool pieces, as well as the rest of the talented Silver City artists represented at MISC.

Stay tuned for news about the Red Dot Weekend in October. It’s gonna be sweet!

We’re thrilled to welcome Ginny Wolf and her tribal mask inspired wall hangings to MISC Gallery. Hand-painted animal skulls decorated with feathers, brass and copper, beads and bells, these pieces feel ceremonial, totemic. You’ve just got to see them in person. Come by the gallery and let us show off our new addition.

Remembering our friend John and his amazing work this August.

Please join us this Friday, August 1st from 5-7pm for an opening reception for “Works of John Rogers - A Retrospective.” The show runs through August 27th.

**Proceeds will be shared between and Velasco Education Fund.

A retired architect and lifelong creative, John worked with found objects, creating unique and imaginative assemblages when our paths crossed. His pieces carried a dynamic sense of space and balance, often with kinetic elements. Working with reclaimed drift woods and discarded pieces of metal, he would let the work tell him what it needed to become, merely “steering” the pieces into what they were meant to be. John’s sculptures invite you to explore the intersection of fine art and mathematics, imagination and precision. This exhibition tells the story of a thoughtful man who let curiosity lead him in creating meaningful work that nudges the viewers toward revelations of their own.
