Good morning fans, followers and future customers we are celebrating 1 month serving you!
Robert & I wanted to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you that has stopped by, commented on facebook and shared our link to your friends on our new addition to Farmer’s Daughter Gift & Garden Center. August 17th was our 1 month anniversary.

We have been so thrilled to see the smiles, hear how much you have wanted a place like this to patronize and has soft serve ice cream. The feedback has all been so positive. We wanted to create a place for families to meet up, friends to meet and in general a place to gather that the community has needed for a long time. This is now happening as we see several cars pull in and wait on another party to come join them. Just last evening the SHS sports teams whether from a game or practice stopped in with their parents in uniform and enjoyed a nice evening ice cream together. Grandparents now have a safe off the road place to bring grandchildren to get a treat as well. It is such a joy seeing their excitement.

The community once had back in the 60’s and before with Ehrhardt’s Drive Inn, Windy Hill Dairy Bar, Pam’s, Moby’s, Rutter’s Ice Cream, Bowman’s Ice Cream or Carman’s at Loganville. Then they were all gone for the locals. The community had a wonderful meeting place that was safe, fun and also delicious at these former southern York Co businesses.

We called the new addition Farmer’s Daughter Chew Chew since we are the 1st property in the historic town of Railroad, Pa. The only town in the US called Railroad. This is just an added feature to our current garden center of 59 years. Customers stop daily if not weekly to purchase garden items they need. We do not have full time hours of standing in the hot/cold greenhouse from July to March. The POS system is the exact same one so we just ring up your purchases at the ice cream window or in the garden center. If you need a gift, birdbath, fall seeds, gift cards etc anytime in the fall or winter we are here 6 days a week at the Garden Center & Ice Cream window to help you with your needs until we close for the season. Then we will see you in March for spring planting time.

When is the last time you had food vs last time you fed your flowers and vegetables? They need food like us to reward you with lush foliage and blooms.

Petunia Fertilizer is useful for calibrachoa (million bells), bacopa, pansies, verbena, vinca, salvia and of course petunias. These are iron dependant annuals that need this type of food.

Great for hard water areas. This fertilizer is especially effective in hanging baskets and containers that are watered often.

We have so many asking about these planters we now have the Fertilizer at the ice cream shop to purchase.

NEW sundae for Sunday made in our homemade waffle bowls.

Our "TRIPLE C" Chocolate syrup, Caramel and Cookie Dough bites over delicious vanilla ice cream in the homemade waffle bowls.

If you want one of our other 10 Sundaes in a waffle bowl just ask. Only 1.50 for homemade waffle bowls or waffle cones made fresh daily.

Regular Sundaes are Hot Fudge, Chocolate, Strawberry, Blueberry, Caramel, Dusty Road, Peanutbutter, CMP, Wet Walnuts (add chocolate syrup for an extra treat) or Butterscotch.

Something here for everyone. Don't forget our Dole Pineapple and Orange is Gluten Free, Dairy Free and Vegan.

Hey Everyone we are now OFFICIAL. We have fabulous Pa Dairy Soft Serve Chocolate, Vanilla & Twist. Also today we have Pineapple Dole, Strawberry Dole or Twist these 2 together. It is delicious if you have never tried it.

We also have 10 different SODA FLOATS if you would like to try something new. Peach, Strawberry, Root Beer, Strawberry Kiwi, Pineapple Orange etc.

We have the old garden center as a walk up service. A couple picnic tables are available as well.

Hours: Mon-Fri 3-9, Sat & Sun's 12-9

We will be adding Sundaes, Specialty items and Milkshakes this coming week. We need to practice making these new items. I will post on Farmer's Daughter Garden Center page for awhile and I have created a new page (currently blank) but please go to Farmer's Daughter Chew Chew and friend it to watch for specials, flavors as they change etc.

Your beautiful cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage you got here and planted in March and April should be nearly ready to harvest or completed.

Time to plant your next crop in which it could be beans to follow your early cold crops. Great for adding nitrogen naturally into the soil.

We have both organic and regular bean seeds in small and larger packs. Bush or pole Kentucky Wonder, yellow, green or burgundy which cook bright green and are great fresh, frozen or canned.

This is the selection we currently have this week. Next cole crops get planted July to Aug for Sept and Oct harvest time when cooler.

Fascinating how quickly zinnias can mature and bloom. How about a cutting garden? Great for pollinators too. Butterflies love the zinnia "landing pad".
