Shreveport Police Homicide investigators are investigating the murder of a man in west Shreveport this past weekend.
On August 23, 2021, just after 5:30 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting that just occurred in the 300 block of West 74th Street. Arriving officers located 25-year-old Brennan Johnson inside of a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot injuries. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives with the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units responded and began their investigation. CSIU photographed the scene and collected evidence while investigators canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with witnesses and family members. Detectives learned that the decedent is known by the name “Pooh” or “Poo”. Investigators have also released information that Johnson was dressed in women’s clothing when he was found deceased. He did identify as a gay man and investigators are working to determine if that could have been a factor in his murder.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office took custody of the decedent and an autopsy was conducted.
