Just when I thought my Sedalia adventure was winding down, I discovered two more incredible pieces of history.

As I was leaving historic Sedalia, I came across the Katy Depot — a beautifully restored old train station that now houses an informative and surprisingly fascinating museum. Definitely one of those unexpected stops that makes exploring worth it.

And then, as if that wasn’t enough, I spotted Bothwell Lodge high on the hill on my way back to the hotel.

This gorgeous stone mansion is built right into the side of a bluff, surrounded by breathtaking views that stretch for miles. It felt like discovering a hidden piece of history tucked away above the city.

Sedalia definitely gave me more than I expected today!

Today was made for exploring.

I spent the day wandering through downtown Sedalia, Missouri, discovering antique stores, digging through thrift shops, and stopping for a delicious Bavarian pretzel for lunch.

And because you know I can’t walk past a thrift shop without looking… I found some things worth sharing. Stay tuned for the thrift shop finds.....

Gnome Hollow Mail Call: Guess the Destination!

Our shipping label is printed, and today's package is headed to the state that's home to the famous Pacific Coast Highway, where ocean views, sandy beaches, and surf culture have inspired generations of musicians—including the legendary Beach Boys.

Back at Gnome Hollow, Shame-ish the Gnoughty Gnome appointed himself today's Air Freshener Quality Inspector. He lined up every new Cara Vent Air Freshener and insisted they all deserved a "coolness rating." After several minutes of very serious judging, he declared them all winners...which was probably the easiest inspection he's ever completed.

Back at Gnome Hollow, Shame-ish the Gnoughty Gnome proudly volunteered to be today's Address Verifier. He carefully inspected every shipping label, then announced he could tell where each package was going just by "following his gnome instincts." We still checked the addresses ourselves...just to be safe.

Its rocky coastline, evergreen forests, and breathtaking ocean views make it one of the country's most beloved destinations.

Back at Gnome Hollow, Shame-ish the Gnoughty Gnome declared himself today's Shipping Forecast Specialist. Before every box went out, he stepped outside, sniffed the air, looked at the clouds, and confidently announced, "Yep...mail weather." His forecast wasn't very detailed, but thankfully the packages went out anyway.

Back at Gnome Hollow, Shame-ish the Gnoughty Gnome proudly appointed himself today's Fragile Sticker Specialist. His instructions were simple: put one sticker on each box. Somehow, one package ended up with seven. "Now they'll definitely be careful," he assured us.
