I just finished this American Indian Doll and isn't she gorgeous! I spent 2 weeks on this baby because I wanted her to be perfect. Lots of love went into the making of this doll. I hand painted her with several layers of Genesis heat paint which means the paint will not come off. I hand rooted each strand of hair, then I assembled her, stuffed her with Glass Beads and stuffing so she feels like you're holding a real baby. She is just waiting on her new mother to adopt her. Some background.
I'm retired and a grandmother of six and one great-grandchild. You see, My dolls are a source of JOY for me. I LOVE making them. So far I've only made 9 total. My first went to my 10 year old granddaughter for a birthday present. As a newcomer to making reborn dolls there were several mistakes in my first one but my granddaughter loves her anyway. One day I'll give her another one after I perfect my techniques.

I spend a lot of time creating each layer I paint on these dolls because I want to be perfect. With each one I make, I get better and better. There's a lot that goes into making these dolls especially my time.

Each doll is hand-painted with Genesis heat set paint. The fingernails are tipped white, they have veins, mottling, rooted hair which takes forever because it's one strand at a time. Their bodies are mole skin fabric They are weighted with tiny glass beads and stuffed with polyfill to make them feel like you're holding a real baby. It's very comforting. So much so that they are used for dementia patients and some mothers that lose their babies use these to help them cope with the loss. Of course all little girls love them. Dressing them in different outfits is a lot of fun.
