Box Turtle Books

Box Turtle Books Box Turtle Books is more than just your local indie bookstore.

Box Turtle Books is a fiercely independent bookstore that exists to gather the readers, stir up the thinkers, and make our community a little louder, smarter, and more alive. Don't miss out on our event on Thursday evening, Book Talk @ Box Turtle: Beth Howard! We're so excited to have her at our little bookstore, in conversation with Keia Mastrianni ❤️

The event is free, and we hope you'll join us to listen to the conversation these two incredible women will have. Beth's memoir, Song For A Hard Hit People, is available now. Please note that the shop will be closed to shoppers during this event.

Don't miss at Box Turtle Books (that's us!) on Thursday, May 28th from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. We have a few copies of her memoir available in store, with more on the way.

“At a time when analysis is everywhere, and actual strategy is critically needed but hard to come by, Beth Howard's book gives us a road map to building the cross race, class solidarity we need to battle the rising authoritarianism of our times. In the best tradition of working class story telling, and with beauty, pain and inspiration, she takes us on her journey as a coal miners daughter, and her emergence as an effective, passionate organizer among her Appalachian Kentucky people. This book will make you cry, laugh, think, and feel. But most of all, it will leave you hopeful.” —Angela Y. Davis
