Your twenties are about addition. More money. More status. More stuff. More people. You assume happiness is somewhere in the pile if you just keep stacking.

Then you hit your thirties and realize you've been solving the wrong equation.

The happiest version of your life isn't buried under more. It's hiding beneath less.

Less debt. Fewer obligations you agreed to out of guilt. Fewer people who drain you. Fewer yeses that should have been nos.

Everybody's out here trying to add their way to fulfillment. New job. New city. New relationship. New thing to buy. But you can't outrun a life that's full of the wrong stuff by adding more stuff.

You have to subtract.

Look at what's draining you and cut it. The friendship you're maintaining out of history, not joy. The commitment you keep because you said you would, not because it matters. The lifestyle expenses that impress people you don't even like.

Happiness isn't something you chase down. It's what's left when you stop carrying things that were never worth the weight.

Subtract first. See what remains.
