About a month ago I was contacted by Dan Wachowski about donating some of my lures to his charity event. Casting for CDF 2014 Topwater Challenge that Dan started. CDF is a charity that helps chronically ill patients with the cost of their medication. After a few PM's we shared that we had both lost our dads. I wanted to help but I normally paint crankbaits and they won't work in a topwater challenge. Dan asked if I would paint two of his dads old shallow diver, Manns 1- minus lures. One honoring his dad Dan Sr. And one honoring my dad. I told him I would be honored. The bluegill pattern is in honor of my dad, the perch pattern is in honor of his dad.

THE LURE THAT STARTED IT ALL...... this is the first bait that I made and painted. Completely hand made, cut from balsa wood, shaped, drilled and weighted, it also has a hand cut circuit board bill. The paint job was ...um (how do you say)... not very pretty! But the thrill I got catching that fish (pictured) on this lure that I made has absolutely consumed me. I dream about building and painting lures now. It has truly become an addiction, stay tuned there is a lot more to come from BW Custom Lures!
