Tip #54 Navigating at night!

This tip card utilizes one of the most commonly sought after stars in the night sky, the North Star as a means of navigation using Ursa Major (the big dipper) as a reference point. This tip also shows the location of the big dipper based on the time of year, as well as how it moves through the night sky on a regular basis, and some other reference points allowing you to identify True North (not to be confused with magnetic north) at night.

TODAYS GRIM TOOL SPOTLIGHT

The Spool Micro Tool

Grim’s micro spool is meant to wind string, fishing line, tape, wire, or any other item you normally would keep a large roll or spool of. One micro spool can hold dozens of yards of fishing line, or string, yards of wire, and yards of tape. You can have both a Sewing, and fishing kit put together in about the same space a AAA battery takes up. each end of the spool has a small V shape to cut string, or break wire with. This zipper sized tool can be fit onto a backpack zipper, keychain, necklace, or small tin to be easily accessible and ready for use at any time. It’s hard to believe we packed so many different useful and functional tools in a space no bigger than a paper clip. So, you get the storage requirement of a paper clip with the functions you’d find in a small backpack of gear or tool kit minus the bulging pockets and sore back.
