Today!!

This year's Bike Rodeo takes place on Saturday, May 9th in front of City Hall. Don't miss out on this fun family event, where kiddos get a chance to get a free helmet provided by Providence, get their bike tuned up at the Seward Bike Shop, and enjoy different stations and games. Adults are welcome to join in on the fun, and the Seward Police Department will be grilling hot dogs. What's not to love?

What can you get in this town for 50¢ anymore? A bike!

That’s right! Season long bike rentals starting at 50¢ a day.

Time to get to work (and the grocery store) Seward!!

Do you already have a car? You get to keep your car! Want to have car parking available in front of your restaurant, bakery or coffee shop? Ask your servers, dishwashers, & hosts to consider a bike. Or do whatever you want idc! 🚲✌️

Can we talk about the $1,500 seasonal car brought down from Anchorage? There's hidden costs to this cheap transportation that get passed to us as residents. The abandoned vehicle, the additional traffic, and the "need" for more parking even if it means removing tax producing and service providing businesses.

For example, I'll take The Porthole over 3 more parking spots any day.

Even if 1 in 10 Seasonal workers bring in one of these, that will impact Seward.

By encouraging, facilitating, and welcoming bicycle riders we all benefit. Less traffic and more open spots in critical areas where workers tend to be.

Every bike on the road is one less car to be abandoned at the end of the season.

Opening day shenanigans at your local bike shop! These clowns showed up with homemade coupons, which I mostly accepted.

Anyhoo, tons of bikes in stock, more on the way, come take one for a test ride, or bring in yours for a tune up (Any year, any brand, any condition).

To promote youth cycling we raise money during the winter to turn into instant rebates for kids bikes. These are offered on a first come first serve basis. PLUS almost all our kids bikes this year are refurbished used ones. Limited quantities!

Have a kids trade in? We will take it!

OPENING DAY at The Seward Bike Shop! As part of her Healthy Towns initiative we met with former the First Lady to discuss cycling, clean transportation options, and although we at The SBS are apolitical, she threw in a dig about how gas never hit $5 gallon under her husband.

Now Open 11am-5:30 Tuesdays-Saturdays for April, then 7 days a week for summer.

Dog treats tame any that bark at me, visit to the White Temple near Chiang Rai, couple other temples and Buddha images, each meal is somehow better than the last (curry in northern Thailand ♥️), I don’t really drink but also don’t think Chang counts.
