Look who Chase found in Bismarck!
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Got his Adventure Buddy!!!... Isaac Pipes (his son) was able to fly out dig for a week!!! SO AWESOME!!! He missed his buddy on these adventures!

- Day 1 digging the Hell Creek Formation.
Approx. 67-65 million years old and represents the last era of dinosaur life on planet earth!!!

- We're digging a HUGE channel deposit.. in Far Southeast Montana out on the Great Plains!!!
So it's easy digging and Isaac and Chase had a KILLER first day!! Lots of teeth. Today was tooth day. Tons of different species and all kinds of great small stuff for out frames at the Smoky Mountain Relic Room!!!

- It got down to the high 30s last night and we did NOT prepare for winter camping hahaha 😆 😅 SO COLD.... but we're digging dinos so its worth it! lol

- Chase is SO EXCITED to have Isaac out on the adventure for a week!!! He missed his adventure buddy. He says these summer trips aren't the same with out him!!!

Slowly making our way to Montana. Made a few stops to film some shorts for our YouTube Channel Chasing History.

- Mark Twain's boyhood home in Hannibal Missouri, Lewis and Clark's Camp Dubois at the mouth of the Missouri, Union Station in Omaha, and the Mead sanatorium in Yankton South Dakota.

- Chase is a huge Mark Twain nerd and he feels that Twain is the first American smartass. If you've never read Mark Twain, go read Mark Twain. He was the first American author to write from the perspective of America as the center of the universe, and did it with a very Proto comic style that was new in American literature. His boyhood home in Hannibal was amazing and they were gracious enough to let us film a few things.

- Camp Dubois is where Lewis and Clark made their first Winter Camp and prepared for the expedition to the Pacific. Chase is also a huge Lewis and Clark nerd and this Camp just north of St Louis was a great stop. He is currently reading a new book out on the expedition called "This Vase Empire" by Craig Ferman is told from the perspective of those who witnessed the expedition. Chase really wanted to stop to see if there were some Lewis and Clark books he hasn't read that he could pick up. He now has more Lewis and Clark books LOL 🤣 😂 😆 😄

- Union Station in Omaha Nebraska is one of the finest art deco buildings still standing in the world this architectural style defined a generation and an era. This was the main train depot for this part of the country and was in operation until the 1970s when it was saved from destruction thankfully by the citizens of the Omaha and turned into a large Museum. Of all of the art deco buildings we've been inside this was the most impressive, and they were gracious enough to let us do some filming

- the Mead sanatorium in Yankton South Dakota was built towards the end of the 19th century and was the center of the universe in the treatment of Mental Health and Lake Victorian America. While they're practices would be considered barbaric in today's mental health world they still had some practices that we would consider revolutionary and would find in any mental health facility today. You don't think of Italian marble and Yankton South Dakota but they have one of the finest Italian marble steps still in use.

We've got one more very important stop to make before we get to the dig site in Southeastern Montana. We cannot wait to get camp set up and be around some of our favorite people on earth nerding out on Dead Dinosaurs!!!!

Back on the road heading WEST!!

- The Tundrasaur, Chase's 21st Century Covered Wagon, is fully loaded with all the supplies he'll need for the summer dig and filming season. Digging tools, camping gear, camera equipment, food, water, medical, glue -- everything he'll need for this nearly two month cross country adventure filming new episodes for our YouTube channel Chasing History and digging awesome stuff for the Smoky Mountain Relic Room and picking up cool old stuff for the Smoky Mountain Antique Mall!!! And we are going to take you guys with us on the adventure!!!!

-We will be going from one end of the US to the other, from Canada to Mexico and everywhere in between. We bet we will do well over 10,000 Miles (we usually do).

-Put your guesses in the comments how many miles we will do on this trip and when we get back we will see who is the closest, but you've got to follow for the next 2 months!!!!

- Got the cabin locked down and the garden and orchard well tended for the Summer. Hopefully Chase will have some food when he gets back.

First stop is South Eastern Montana to dig dinosaurs!
