Got on your bucket list? Here’s a lowdown on the most accessible vortex sites from Village of Oak Creek. Check out any of them before, or after, the pop-up market this Friday!
Two of Sedona’s well-known vortex sites, Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, are within walking distance from the northern boundary of the VOC community. Quite a few VOC visitors find it perfectly wonderful to walk from their hotel or restaurant or shopping visit to the Bell Rock Pathway / Vista trailhead, which provides access to a network of well-maintained walking paths. You can design your own approach to a great view or directly to the base of either vortex site. Try the especially gorgeous Rector Connector trail for a stunning, more-rugged walk through the saddle between both vortex sites!
From the south end of the VOC community, a lovely drive down Verde Valley School Road leads to the Baldwin Trail trailhead. From this location, there is easy walking access to the shallows on the southern side of Oak Creek, incredible iconic views of Cathedral Rock, as well as trails through the lowlands below the south face of Cathedral Rock and its vortex energy. The trails here connect to well-loved routes enjoyed by mountain bikers and runners.
Both trailheads are maintained by the Coconino National Forest and require parking fees that can be taken care of on site via self-serve pay stations. Exploring one of these local energy vortex sites could occupy anywhere from half and hour to three hours plus, making a vortex visit a perfect outing this Friday before swinging on by to .
Stop by the ranger station just south of VOC proper if you want solid advice on how to prepare for any of these walks, what to bring, what not to bring, outdoor etiquette, and all that good stuff.
Thanks to for sharing images and trail beta.
See you on Friday!
