Eye Candy Truffles was founded in 2011 by Sonoma County ophthalmologist Sonja Schluter. Dr. Schluter’s two passions are ophthalmology and chocolate. She is a practicing ophthalmologist (eye physician and surgeon) and specifically, a glaucoma specialist, but in her life before medicine she attended culinary school in 1992. There Dr. Schluter developed a love of all things sweet especially fine choc
olate. Since then, every year around Christmas she has been making first hundreds and later thousands of hand-made chocolate truffles to send to family, friends, and colleagues as holiday gifts. Each year her truffles evolved and improved and in 2011 she became certified as a Master Chocolatier through the Ecole Chocolat. Each Eye Candy truffle is handmade with the finest Belgian chocolate, locally-sourced organic cream and butter from Sonoma County, CA, and natural flavorings such as liqueurs, fruit purees, and fine tea or coffee infusions.
