Three moments the mountain gave me that no one could ever take away.

The first was my very first summit. Mount Saint Helens. A complete whiteout. No view. No glory shot. Just four people on a ridge in the middle of nowhere — cold, exhausted, and completely alive together. That was my first taste of what it means to belong somewhere without needing permission.

The second was alone in Mount Rainier National Park. I was recovering from heartbreak. The kind that makes everything feel too large to carry.

I sat down in the middle of Glacier Basin and the mountain just... held me. Warm sun on my skin. Birds everywhere. Glacier runoff trickling somewhere below. And that peak — vast, ancient, completely indifferent to my problems in the most healing way possible.

A stranger took that photo. She found me afterward just to send it. She knew.

The third was alone on Rainier at sunset. I watched the light die over the clouds below me. Then a meteor shower. Then Scorpio — my constellation — rising slowly above the summit.

I didn't plan any of these moments.

They found me.

That is what a Glimmer Moment is. It doesn't announce itself. It doesn't wait for you to be ready. It arrives when you are finally still enough to feel it.

And it changes something in you permanently.

This is why I do this work. Because every founder has moments like these buried inside their story. A feeling that cracked you open. A truth that wouldn't stay quiet. A moment of stillness that rewrote everything.

Not planned. Not manufactured. Not found in a boardroom or a business plan.

It warms over you like alpenglow at the end of a long day on the mountain.

I started The Alpenglow Effect the moment mine hit me.

And I almost let the world take it.

Now I spend my life helping founders do one thing:

Let me tell you what bread and butter actually costs.

Not in revenue. Not in metrics.

In the things that don't show up on a spreadsheet.

The people who needed you couldn't find you anymore. The ones pressing their faces against the glass — the ones your brand was built for — walked right past because you looked like everything else.

You stopped feeling it yourself. That warmth. That aliveness. The thing that made you start in the first place quietly dimmed until you were just going through the motions of building something you no longer recognized.

And the brand lost its voice. Not overnight. Slowly. One compromise at a time. Until the identity you had fought to build was unrecognizable — and the price of that compromise was everything it was meant to be.

My name is Rylie. I am a neurodivergent who was told she didn't belong. I rebel against that with everything I have.

I know what it feels like to stand on the outside looking in. To shrink in pink. To know something extraordinary exists — something healing, something still — and to be told quietly, consistently:

My Glimmer Moment came watching the Alpenglow behind Mount Rainier at a pivotal moment in my life. That private, luminous stillness that no one could ever take from me.

I watched that moment being Gatekept. But I knew I had to give it back. It became priced out. Reserved for the privileged few while everyone else pressed their faces against the glass and watched.

I couldn't let that stand.

So I built The Alpenglow Effect — an entire startup in 3 months, launched the same winter season. A community where belonging wasn't a luxury. A space where the healing power of the mountains could reach everyone who needed it and meet people where they were.

Not just the privileged. Everyone.

And then I got talked into bread and butter.

That's the thing about a Glow — you can suppress it. You cannot extinguish it.
