Thank you all for the well wishes and the recent birthday wishes over the last couple of years. I’m sorry it’s taken so long to reach out.

I had a major stroke at home. They tried to dissolve the clot and then tried a operation to grab the clot. Unfortunately, it was not successful and I was in the hospital including inpatient rehab for 4-5 months. The stoke paralyzed my right side and also took away my ability to eat or speak. I had to learn to eat again and I had to learn to speak again. Upon coming home I had many months of home rehabilitation. Then the Doctors thought I could progress better if I went back into the VA hospital for more intense physical inpatient therapy. After that I came back home.

Today, I am now in a very fast electric wheelchair and my speech is slowly
improving.

Tell everybody (since they always ask) I will not be returning to do brass repairs.

The tools I used for repairs and the merchandise (horns/mouthpieces/
parts/cases and more) I had for sale in the store (have been in storage) and will be soon listed up for sale on my Facebook site and my eBay site Brass2437.

I am also selling my personal horns on the eBay site and two Benge horns on the Benge Fanatics site. Including my personal CG Benge I played in Vegas.

My wife has been by my side and never missed a day. She helped me write this message. ( he insisted I include this)

It has been my great pleasure getting to know my friends/customers and to work on your instruments over the years. (My customers are some of the best in the business)

Being a musician was my greatest love. Who wouldn’t love a life full of the my talented, intelligent, inspiring beautiful musicians friends I’ve made over the years.

Mike would like to thank you all for your support of Mike Paulson BrassMasters. He especially would like to thank the local brass musicians, teachers and professionals who made last twenty years living and working in Seattle rewarding.

On September 01, Mike had a stroke. After a month in the hospital he is at home recovering.
We are excited as he is regaining movement on his right side. We are excited about his speech improvement each week. The progress is great but it is slow.

Mike has decided to close BrassMasters December 01. His plans are to reopen (when he is ready) and do some repairs from the house eventually. But it might be summer before he is ready, so it makes no sense to pay the expenses to have a store front.

Hi this is Rae Ann, Mike’s wife giving everybody a update on Mike’s progress. First, he would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, well wishes, cards and flowers. Mike was a month in the Hospital. The last couple of weeks in acute rehabilitation. Mike got home on Tuesday and is now working with various therapists to further his progress from home. This is Mike’s wife RaeAnn posting. A week ago today Mike had a stroke. He is on the rehabilitation floor, room 608 at Swedish Hospital Cherry Hill, 500 17th Ave Seattle Wa. 98122

He survived the stroke is now stable but his right side and speech were affected. Luckily he is left handed. Everyday he is doing better, but it could be up to 30 days before he is released the Dr. said today.

Because of Covid I am the only visitor allowed at this time. Please no phone calls to the hospital. Call the store if you have more questions and we will return your call. Prayers, well wishes and Get Well cards are welcome.
