Walt's Organic Fertilizer Co. is beyond thankful for our community that shop with us & share their love for nature with us & others.

New to our shop is a little free library - handcrafted using leftover materials and features a cozy reading room for the neighborhood birds. Next time you are at the shop picking up some compost or perusing plants be sure to take a look and grab a book. Books that begin their journey in our library have a Walt’s Organic LLC Free Little Library stamp inside their cover.

Books about gardening, pollinators, and nature are our favorites, but we welcome whatever you have to share. A daycare center is one street away, so adding books for kids will certainly be a delight.

**We will be closed Thanksgiving 11/25/2021 & back open for your gardening needs on Friday.
We are also on our Winter hours until the end of January. Only open Thursday 10-6, Friday 10-6 & Saturday 10-4

HEY! We just got a fresh shipment of organic straw in! Excellent option to mulch your garden beds before winter - it will protect the soil and suppress w**d seeds from germinating.

Mulch in Fall to prevent erosion and protect delicate roots and stems from frost.
There are many mulch materials to choose from. Here, we are using a
nutrient-rich mulch to keep plants well-fed. This helps desired plants to be stronger and healthier and helps them crowd out pesky w**ds and fend off pests.
In very mature plantings, a woody mulch is nice to add for more w**d-prevention. A few other mulch choices include compost, gravel, straw. Whichever mulch material you choose, an added benefit is creating a beautiful finishing touch.
