West Seattle Nursery is a full service nursery and garden center. We feature a large selection of unusual perennials, trees, shrubs and seasonal annuals for the urban landscape. We have a wide array of soil amendments, seeds, garden tools and supplies, books and an excellent selection of outdoor pottery and statuary. Container gardening is a specialty among several of our staff people and we are n

ever without a supply of beautiful and interesting ready-made planters to suit every budget. Our destination gift shop is full of interesting houseplants, as well as beautiful and unusual garden oriented gifts. Knowledgeable nursery staff people are always on hand to help you find the perfect plant and help you take care of the plants you already have. We specialize in providing plant identification and pest/disease control suggestions and we consistently incorporate integrated pest management (i.p.m.) and environmentally friendly gardening principles in our approach. Nestled in this temperate, waterfront neighborhood, our nursery has been meeting West Seattle's gardening needs since 1983. We are proud to sponsor and support such worthy neighborhood endeavors as the West Seattle Garden Tour and local community outreach programs such as Southwest Youth and Family Services and the West Seattle Helpline. We also focus a charitable donation strategy around local public schools and publicly funded gardening education programs every year. Whether you live in our neighborhood and stop by frequently or you are traveling from another part of Seattle, or beyond, we look forward to serving you. Today we honor Juneteenth, a day that reminds us freedom is not given, it is won, remembered, and celebrated together. As - the grandmother of Juneteenth - lived to show us, keep marching until the work is done.

Let's celebrate Black joy, creativity, and the generations of resistance that made this day possible, while recognizing the work that still lies ahead.

❤️June 19, 12-8PM: Juneteenth Freedom Festival at Jimi Hendrix Park - Seattle's largest and longest-running Juneteenth celebration presented by & . They will be featuring live performances, more than 75 black-owned businesses & vendors, youth & family activities, and civic education exhibits.

💛June 19, 11AM-4PM: Freedom + Futbol at Midtown Square, Central District – is hosting a public watch party and community celebration built around the World Cup, featuring youth soccer activities, music from DJ T-EN, and food from Black-owned vendors Def Chef and Off Tha Iron Belgian Waffles. ARTE NOIR is a Black-led nonprofit rooted in the Central District.

🖤June 19, 10-5PM: The Sound of Connection at Judkins Park & the Northwest African American Museum - The annual Juneteenth celebration features the Skate to Freedom Party, a Black Artist Market, STEM activities, and soulful food trucks and local pop-ups.

💚June 20, 12-5PM: REVIVAL Market at Midtown Square, Central District – Now in its fifth year, REVIVAL Market, hosted by , features Black-owned businesses, creatives, and organizations from across the region. They will also have a live broadcast from KEXP Djs, and more!

❤️June 20, 10-2PM: Volunteer Day at YesFarm - Volunteer at YesFarm with Nyema, Krista, and the . Their mission is to build a Black-led food system by developing a cooperative network of food system actors, acquiring and stewarding land, facilitating food system education, and creating space for Black liberation in healing and joy.

A huge thank you to .bloom for teaching an incredible class on designing your own water-smart permaculture paradise! We loved learning about plant selection, water-wise landscaping, and even the surprising benefits of some so-called "weeds." 💚

Extra thanks to Saving Water Partnership and for supporting events like this, and thank you to everyone who came out! Water-wise education matters for our whole community, and we're excited to keep learning and growing gardens that thrive in our Pacific Northwest climate 🌲✨
