Seven years ago I opened a tiny flower shop in the Melrose Market. I had been growing flowers on a few acres in the Snoqualmie Valley for a few years, and felt ready to share that product with old and new friends on Capitol Hill. Since then I’ve been cultivating -- with the most wonderful team -- the shop and the farm, and have launched a few other ventures with terrific partners along the way: The London Plane in Pioneer Square and Marigold and Mint Botanicals.
There’s a last time for everything, and these are going to be the last days of Marigold and Mint in the Melrose Market. Our last shop day will be May 15th. Please stop in before then to say goodbye, order Mother’s Day flowers and let us wish you well.
Marigold and Mint will live on in the farm and studio-based floral installation work; we will continue our everyday and special occasion flower work at The London Plane (so please contact them for any future flower needs); MM Botanicals will carry on the spirit of Marigold and Mint through its products.
It goes without saying that Marigold and Mint wouldn’t be what it has become without the customers who have embraced it. Over these years, Ayako, Izzie, Sharon, Jess, Brita, Vanessa and I have watched people stop in for a moment to inhale the fragrance, find a quiet moment among lovely things, and take some of our ephemeral beauty home. Of course I am also terribly grateful for these women who have worked in the shop, and Craig who has delivered all of the flowers.
With deep thanks to all of you for your support over these seven years,
Katherine
